Mk2 03 plate 1.4 16v mods?

Hey Im pretty new to owning a clio and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to make it go faster and look better :) I want to try and have it modded in a year or so and my budget is around £2000. Ive already bourght a headunit, sub and amp which he helped me fit but everything else I will probably have to have done in a garage. I was also after things like tints, rims, have it lowered and maybe get some new lights at the back/front (not lexus lights though!) lol

If anyone has any good ideas/pics would be great to see em.

Thnx, Adam

Join in the group buy for coilovers they are a great price £420 or so get them fitted anywhere for £40 to 90 or do it yourself not difficult. The grip is so much imcreased much bettee than just springs or even springs and shocks plus you cna lower a massive amount.

i'd say a panel filter in the box or cold air feed induction kit and exhaust(full system) mine picks up better and runs smoother on the lower end after that.

Any one else got ideas on anything cheap and cheerful to do to a 1.4 16v to get some powergains?

haha I dont kno wat you jus aid but it all sounds sick! I will look into some of those parts. Thanks for the info

Contact BenR about getting the intake manifold worked for better flow.

Cheap mod for a garenteed 10hp is a 1.6 bottom end and a remap.

can you do that on the plastic inlet manifolds?

you can also use 2.0 16v F4R Throttle Body (not the 172/182 engine, its the Laguna/Megane engine)

lower part of the manifold (this is what makes the most power from mods)

fitting the f4 series throttle body wont make a difference

How much do you think all this would set me back? and where would be the best places to get something like this done? closest to Manchester.

Forget closes doesn't work.
BenR at Angelworks or Stan* at APD on for the head work then either of them for the cams also Yozzasport will do the cams and head work but personaly I'd use BenR head work and cams.

Cost err depends on spec but cams fit head (with reworeked head) plus new gasgets cambelt remaped ECU your looking at about £2.3k I'd think. Nd if your doing head work 1.6 bottom end is well worth while after all engine in pieces at this stage anwya so add an extra £400 or so for that. Idelay buy a seperate 1.6 engine have it striped balenced head work etc doen and sorted on it then get the engine dropped in and mapped will mean your cars out of action the least time.

Stan (APD) is south Wales way I think might be moving not sure
BenR (Angelworks) is cambridge way I think.
