Mk2 ph1 1.1 idling like a sl*g when up to temp :(

Ok so recently had a new engine fitted in my car as the timing belt went on the old one now this new one has recently (past 2 weeks) had a new timing belt and pulleys and water pump, now when it's cold it idles at 1k rpm ( standard idle for it is 750 rpm) now when it's hot and run for half and hour or so it idles at 750 but tthen starts to dip as if it's stalling itself and then the stop and oil light flicker as the engine stutters. I'm going to check the breather pipe in a bit as in my past experience my mechanic left it loose on my old engine and it fell onto the timing belt and rubbed through so failing that what else can I look for? I've checked oil and water and everything is full no problems there. It's just had its mot aswel so any guesses?

Cheers

Nick

From what I can tell it isn't misfiring there is no lack on power it's just when I stop at say a set of lights it will start to play but as soon as I'm moving it's fine again. Also it's the throttle body that came with the new engine guess I'll give it a scrub on Sunday with some WD-40

Cheers

Nick

I had a chat with my mechanic he reckons the Throttle Body could be to blame, as its and off and on kind of thing he thinks it may be sticking closed too far when it returns to idle position we shall soon see :) It's been good the past 2 days (fingers crossed)
