does you engine make a cool whistly sound from about 3800rpm?

mine seems to have got a bit louder

I've got the same engine in the Alize and haven't noticed that but it does seem to pick up pretty nicely around that range

damn you miss out, its actually at about 3400 you can start to hear it, a faint whistle sound all the way to about 5500 sounds quite cool

Mines not well , either the manifold is cracked or the flexi is bust or someit, seems really sluggish aswell

Can't afford to get it fixed either coz it has just had a full respray

Mine needs a wheel bearing done, on the left side just need to figure out front or back! Also my flexi section is blowing a bit but f**k it, it can stay like that till I have some folding stuff!

check the air box/conection, my old 1.2 used to whistle like that cos it had a very slight crack in the air box!!

Different engine, you've got the 1.4 16v engine in your Alize, 'S' owners only have the 1.4 8v i believe.
The alize 1.4 produces its max torque just before 4k so it will feel more punchy around here.

The first batch of Alizes came with the 1.4 8v unit mate. I'm just on the cut off point as I've seen a few V plate versions that have the 16v unit

Yep RT is a 1.4 8v but I thought the Grande was only available in 1.2 8v guise?

^ cheers mate!! yeah I did but nothing else, I've got a vid somewhere but John told me off cos I wasnt taking it to the limiter lol the best thing about the S is that you get all the little extras like the sports seats, dials, fogs etc and its still a lower insurance group than the RT, alize etc which have exactly the same engine, whats all that about :S

The wheels are flaking apart, engine isnt happy, rear bumper needs a respray and i dented teh passenger door.

Wanted to get it all fixed before FCS but have run out of time!

John, i'v just had my rear wheel bearings done. I thought the sound was comeing from front left but it was rear left that was worse. Dunno if that helps with your investigations?
