Mk2 Ph1 RSi 1*2 brake conversion

Just wondering if this is actually possible?

A mate of mine has one and fancies sticking some 1*2 front and rear discs on it, I told him to buy a 172 but that was too much like hard work. If anyone has done this and has any advice it would be most welcomed!
