Mk2 rear lights - quick question

Are mk2 ph1 & ph2 (ones with white circles) exactly the same at the back; ie -would it be a straight swap with one for the other? I assume so, but I'd appreciate a certain answer though. Cheers.

They'll fit but you need to do some rewiring IIRC.

there is guide to the rewiring, its pretty simple, i have done it before using the guide.
