MK2 V6: Strut Brace?...

  Clio 197
1) Would an ordinary MK2 brace fit?

2) Why on earth...

...is there heatshielding on the bonnet if the engine's in the back?

I had a good look at one today... and I was surprised to see it.

yeah pretty much, wind noise, tyre noise, oh and the radiator is under there too! have you even seen under the engine tray???? (where the 172/182 engine would normally be)

its built like a tank under that!

A ordinary Mk2 brace will fit but I don't see it as being as important.

Fred its built like a tank as Renault needed something to bolt a Laguna engine in there.
I'd wonder what the weight saving would be to have it made of something more exotic. I'm sure thats smehting MikeT could spend his money on next.

ooo... I had no idea.

I thought the front was just for show!

I'm surprised that the boot (or front loading bay) isn't water tight... and has a drainage hole!!!

GAWD... and twice the price of a 182?!! You've got to be kidding!

i mean the front subframe edde! that's built like a tank!
Its no suprise the cars so heavy.
Still best fun is reading the V6 repair manuals the amout of normal car stuff you have to butcher and weld its just amazing to make it fit.
Still they look stunning for all the slagging off I give them I'd have one over any normal 172/182 even for there unusability poor fuel economy high insurance slow speeds etc.

na the bonnets on the 172/182/1.2/1.4's etc aren't water tight

Yup... I just expected the V6 to have some rubber in place to stop it. :S

Still, a gorgeous car to look-at and listen-to (with his Tubi zorst).

Stripes? Hmm... not sure (see pics section)!

Apparently, the car's much better on fuel since fitting the exhaust... Hows that possible?
