Mk3 clutch gone

Ive just had the clutch done around 1000 mile ago because it was slipping but still driveable. Last night i was slowing down for a bridge, dropped it into third then the clutch went loose and ended up towing it back :/. When i got the clutch done before themechanic had to send the flywheel away to the engineer, it was balanced a little bit and the clutch friction plate had desintergated and dug marks into the flywheel. Do you think its a new clutch and flywheel? Cheers.

When you say clutch loose? can you elaborate?

Theres no compression in the clutch whatsoever, cant get it in gear.

Sounds Hydraulic to me. Could be a concentric fault (assuming the 1.2 MK3's are)

probably master/slave cylinder like the 197s, are prone to go.

Just been on the phone with the mechsnic says it could potentially be the hydraulic accuator, its inside the gearbox. Taking it through tonight.

so you had the clutch replaced 1000miles ago and now its broken and the mechanic says the hydraulic slave is to blame?

WHY THE f**k DID HE NOT REPLACE IT WHEN HE DID THE CLUTCH - UTTER DUMBO

Just did a clutch on a 197, did 500 miles and one side of the friction material fell off. Genuine clutch from Renault, the second replacement from Renault had different rivets.

Its a diffrent mechanic now the other 1 was too unreliable. Dont know might be because it was just slipping before but still had the compression ?
