Mk3 Common Problems

Hi Guys,

Going to look at a Clio MK3 GT on Friday and was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of things to look out for with them and any common faults there are?

I have a mk3 with a different engine. 2012 plate with 120k ish miles and the chassis has been great. I go through rear wheel bearings but that because lows and spacers.

Watch out for the electrics, such as the wiper motor, centre screen (where the radio displays), all fans speeds may not work but easy fix, depending on engine (the engine coils like to fail on the petrol 1.4 and 1.6s).

@Dom_capper @iMZee Thanks for the advice guys. Quick question @Dom_capper, do you have coilovers or springs and what ones? As I will be looking to lower the one I am getting too

I have AP coilovers mate.

If it's a diesel which hopefully it is as the petrol ones are a bit naff then full throttle in 4th or 5th gear up a motorway sliproad and get it up over 4000rpm to make sure there is no warning lights.

Mk3s were having issues with rusty subframes not sure how widespread they are
