Mk7 golf clunk at low speed.

[Hi afternoon]

So it’s not a Clio, but hardly anyone on here owns Clio’s anymore and there’s some pretty clued up people so I thought I’d ask. I have this clunk/knock coming from my Golf which occurs when I let off the accelerator at low speeds. With or without engaging the clutch. I’ve read on the forums that it’s pretty common and a result of the duel mass flywheel and the gearbox for the year/model, however I’m sure it’s getting worse. Ideas?

That sounds like its more external rather than internal of the gearbox maybe an engine/gearbox mounting? hard to tell though from the video

Just hope it is the flywheel and not crankwalk! I was luck enough for both to go in my TT RS
Do you run a Push clutch to start bypass? I do now ...

Yes I too considered engine mount, hard to diagnose though!

I have no clutch related concerns so don’t think it could be thrust bearing related, if that’s what you mean? And I don’t have a bypass, didn't know they existed!
