modifications on free insurance

Just phoned renault insurance.

Gonna increase my excess by 100pound for lowering the car (springs just arrived)

And they want to increase the excess by another 100 for my window tints. So thats my excess at like 650 now

Well it will be once i tell them ive done it. Ach well I just wont crash ehhe i hope

You have to pay insurance for tints? Jesus theyre fookin rippin us off. Is renault insurance actually any good? Im with directline..

cos its on the free insurance.

Id go with cis once my year is up. Any modifications except engine = free. they are a bit more expensive but at least you can modify till your hearts content

.................funny, some ppl say they can mod away on the free insurance...........i phoned n asked about lowering, they said it makes the car faster so i cant, they said you can tint your windows etc, we dont care about that..............so it must depend who u speak to lol! john did you ASK about the springs or TELL them about the springs???? that would be interesting to know! As i want to lower mine, free insurance runs out in March

Just mod it till your skint... worry about insurance when you get caught then get a bend cover note, with a bend MOT and a BENT tax disc... ahhh those were the days....

Renault insurance use directline and put about £200 ontop... I phoned renault insurance and said directline were charging X amount and she said well use them anyway so get the cheapest.

r30bc of course i used the "Im considering doing this, and im thinking about doing this".

I spoke to quite a few folk to be honest, cause i just kept asking different questions. They basic story from what i got was....

you can change lights or colour code or add a stereo for nothing.

Window tints, lowering, wheels. She asked me how much they were, i said xxx, she said well your excess with increase by this much.

Seems pretty harsh, but im too good to crash anyway blah blah hehe

i just find it funny coz the guy i spoke to went away and asked someone lol, but i was definatly told that window tints made no differnce!!!! Ill just lower it, see what they say. im only wanting a light window smoke anyway so sod them! I got told it could be done! So ill just broach the lowering subject to them............it is only a set of springs after all, and who is going to noitce if its been rolled n the wheels r up and down the arches lol

im gonna phone back and play dumb, see if i can get away with the window tints. you feel speaking to renault insurance that half of them dont have a clue whats going on eh?

one says one thing and the other something different.

One things for sure, once i get the stuff all sorted i want it all in writing that they know about it. Cause if they told me "yeah tints dont matter" then turned round and said haha your claim is void...id cry

When i asked renault insurance about lowering the car they said im wasnt allowed at all no way. They said i cant touch the engine or the suspension. But i can do anything else.
