Getting the car lowered on Saturday, and a few other bits and bobs done.

Not bought shockers yet, think it will do without them? Got 40mm springs.

Oh its a '2000' 172.

Please and thankyou

^^ as above. you should be ok on 35/40mm but shocks are really recommend. heard apex or eibachs are good springs to go for on 172's.

apex should be ok but might look into uprating the shocks in the future, if its only for wear and tear issues

They are 40mm springs, was going to buy coilovers but spent the money on other mods!!

there shouldn't be a problem with the 40mm drop on standard shocks.

However, the Apex springs are a bit poo to say the least... much better off with some Eibach Sportline springs :)

apex are fine. slightly harsher but nothing too bad.

handling improves, turn in is amazing!

Glad to hear the handling improves, its not that great at the moment!!

My old nova sr was outstanding compared to the 172!!

Springs are springs, it what poundage they are that matters, not the company.

Springs on stock shocks are fine, afgain, they will wear them out quicker. Yes in an ideal world we woudl all ahve shocks too, but in an ideal world i woudl have 3 way adjustable coil-overs with a remote resovoir, but i'm not made of money so hey ho

Go for Eibach if your after the ''off road'' or the 80's style jacked up look ;)

Apex are great. Had them on a year and ive turned the Koni's up to a harder setting cos i thought they were a wee bit too soft.
