Monaco Blue colour match

Car  330Ci (Fail)Sport
Is it a difficult colour for body shops to match?

Need a couple of scuffs sorted on the front bumper from when I bought it, but don't want the whole bumper looking slightly different.

Also, are the halfords touch up pens any good on the colour match for the small paint chips/touch ups?

Thanks.

I wouldn't say it would be overly difficult, then again we've never had a monaco car in at work before. As long as the rest of the car isn't swirl city/faded you should be fine.

Oh right. There are some swirls on it, I never notice them unless I'm looking for them but want to get it professionally detailed so they should hopefully be gone after that.

Just need to sort scuffs, chips out first.

Mine was quite hard to match so in the end i took it to a bodyshop and its a good match.

Would only be doing the chips myself or chips away or whatever they're called.

Bumper scuff will be taken to a body shop. Just don't want it coming back looking noticeably different. Rather live with the couple of scuffs as they're only noticeable when shiny clean.

Wouldn't bother with chips away places tbh, just save your cash and pay the extra to get them done at a bodyshop. We've had a few jobs in fixing "smart repair" companies' work.

Oh ok. They not that good then? Only small minor jobies. Might attempt mysef on a small hidden part of the paint to see the results.

You could maybe get the car buffed up and see what can/can't be corrected without having to respray first - would work out cheaper.

My Monaco (a.k.a Swirl-Bus) is in dire need of lots of TLC.
Have a few chips here & there and some marks I'd like buffed out/sprayed so I'm going to get it run-over with polish first to see how bad it really is before it has anything sprayed.

The last time I had something painted was a scuff on the front bumper and my Cup spoiler sprayed & fitted.
The match was really good, it cost about £200 all-in.

Got a quote from other bodyshops recently for spraying - most are looking for £150/per panel

Cheers Tigger. Will have to wait a couple of months for exams and then I'll crack out the polish. See how bad it is, if they're still really bad then consider what a professional clean say.

£200 seems very decent for all that.
