More Help!! Do you have to change the cambelt if Dephaser need changing??

  Clio 172 Cup
Hi All (Again),

Not having a lot of luck at the moment. Anyways... I have a cambelt and aux belt changed around 4,000 miles / 1 year ago. Now i have a dephaser that needs changing as the noise is the same as on another thread that someone posted.

My question is, can the dephaser be changed on its own without having to change the belt if it is in a good condition?

Thank you (again)

If it were my personal car then yes, I'd just change the pulley and fit a new belt BUT I can do all the work and am prepared to take the risk/rebuild it if it goes wrong.

If it were a paying customer asking though there'd be no way... new kits.

Yes you do have to.

what you can get away with is not doing the full aux belt kit if it was done very recent.

you will need to do
full cambelt kit
dephaser
aux belt only.

if your fussy do the lot ~ 550
although
thats for a 182 for a 172 cup it will be cheaper
