MOT failed. how much

had my MOT on the valver today and it failed, but not on much.

the guy at the garage give me the sheet of all the tests and its failed on.

Overall handbrake effort low

O/S/F flexi hos split.

and thats it. i asked for a quote and he said hed fit new rear pads, adjust the handbrake and front flexi hose for £100 total. what you think? is this a good quote??

passed the emmisions by miles tho.

Hehe, both my front Flexi Hoses were split..

Think I paid £22 from Euro Car Parts or something for both, inc vat and delivery.. then £20 for fitting.

Id probably change both anyway if one is gone - other cant be far off.

Handbrake, dunno..

Personally I would do it myself and deff change both hoses.... however, if you are not a confident mechanic (you will need to bleed the brakes after which can be a bind), dont do it yourself, its not worth the risk to save a few £s when you are messing with something as crucial as brakes. Just try to negotiate a better rate with the garage its at, tell em you had a quote elesewhere for £50.
