MOT failure - smoke test...

My DCI failed on the MOT smoke test. it got 3.62 m-1 what ever that is.

The car has an air leak somewhere between the turbo and inlet, would this be causing the bad emissions reading. Or would it be a dodgy egr valve?

not too far off, just tank it for a good thrash to clear it out the should pass no probs

get the air leak fixed clean egr valve and new gloplugs and a good thrash!

Will do! Glow plugs already changed, I think the manifold has to come off to sort the air leak.... going to be expensive!

I'd just thrash it and get it glowing hot then try again.

leaking boost pipe would cause it yeah engines getting un metered air so will be over fuelling
