Motorpoint 182

Ordered a 182 in black on the 20th may was told 2-3 weeks delivery.

On the day i was expectin to go pick it up june 11th, I recieved a letter sayin mine and 22 other Renaults couldnt leave the factory due to a re-call. They said it sould take a further 2-3 weeks. I phoned them last week to check it would be ready for this fri 2 july, and was told still not left factory but it should be here. I phoned them again this morning and im not confident they know WHEN my car is gonna be released.

Has anyone else got/had the same problem with motorpoint or any other dealers?

Annoying thing is I can now get one today if i want from a dealer much closer to my house for 300 quid more and it has the cup pack on. Motorpoint wanted 1000 extra for cup pack.

From what I read on here though will be worth the wait, if it ever arrives....

Why not cancel the motorpoint one and buy the one closer??

Surely there is a get out clause relating to "increasing delays" etc?

I purchased my last car, a 172 from Motorpoint and my boss purchased a 307 from them.

Id only ever buy a car they have in stock as they have no idea when there stock is going to arrive. They just keep padding it out.

They just sell what they can get there hands on.

Would cancel if i could, but paid a deposit which they say is non refundable, and they say delivery delays aint their problem.

They cant take your money and fob you off indefinately. How much deposit have you paid?

They did the same to my boss. In the end he changed for a car they had in stock!! He waited 2 months for a Leon.

Taken from their very own T&Cs

"If Motorpoint failed to deliver the vehicle by the agreed date, Motorpoint shall return the deposit and any prepayment to the customer and shall be liable to the customer for any reasonable losses the customer may suffer."

Id guess their first line of defense is to fob everyone off hoping the majority will go away. Just persist and quote Point 7 (Deposits and Prepayments) at them.

If you need a copy of their complete T&Cs let me know.

Are the T&Cs your quotin from the ones on the back of the contract i have signed to pay my deposit, or from somewhere else ?
