Mounting plates for rear cage

Car  clio 172
So next weekend I’m going to be fitting a rear cage in my track car. Iv got spreader plates for underneath the car but iv bean told by some people I need to weld plates to the floor on the inside for a proper job.
Iv also bean told by other people it’s not necessary and just to use the plates underneath. What’s people’s opinion?
Any help would be much appreciated

Is it the eBay one?

Regardless, it needs to be fitted as the maker has designed it to be fitted so without knowing the make its impossible for anyone to say what's right for your cage.

I’m not sure of the make I’m afraid. I picked it up second hand
