Not the usual question here but I'm sure someone will know the answer!
I recently clocked up a few mile of motorway and A road driving...
1074 miles in 3 days...
This gave me a MPG of 42.2mpg for the motorway stuff (About the first 400 miles.)
Then on A roads having some fun for 300 miles where it dropped to about 41.5.
Then crept back up to 42.0 on the motorway again.
This was with the Air-con on for the entire journey. (I think I have had it on since I got the car 3 years ago!) And just the accumulative readout given on the dash board, so I know I wasn't actually getting 41.5mpg on the A roads while overtaking in 2nd or 3rd gear.
Does anyone have any figures for comparative journeys without aircon?
Its a 172 Mk1 (silver) I think silver is more economical
