thats very true but if that were the case you wouldnt drive from swindon to tewks to waste some money on seeing what it does on a dyno if you didnt care what hp it makes ;)

I went down to have a go in your cars to see what they were like, as it turned out I didn't need to. Ktec 182 turbo at the moment produces 330hp that thing in 3rd and 4th gear accelerated like mine does in 2nd so if mine is around that figure I'll be very happy

This is a strange thread.

Good luck with it all the same, I'm sure it'll be a beast if/when it is completed :)

Well if I'm not happy I'll go to power station RR then I'll be happy!!!

Good to see you going for more power :) as long as your happy once its done is the main thing. Im going to get mine forged aswell, im not trying for 1 of the highest powered clios not my aim, a nice useable 280-300 will do me lol

What filter setup is everybody else running? Mines the itg straight off the SC but thinking maybe routing it upto were the fuel rail is?

Adey where you based i wouldnt mind you taking me for a spin in yours :)

  Qashcow
Mine made identical power at Powerstation and TDF to be fair, I'd agree with Adey on wheel spin or something.

I still don't like the idea of a standard-ish Renault box in there, I wouldn't be doing another euro road trip in it that's fo sho

  Qashcow
Craig, me and Adey both in gloucester. We got the filters in same position as you, but with a 90degree bend up slightly. There's not a lot of room to move the filter too sadly

Just about to buy this kit from ktec(standard s/c kit)will be fitting it myself with a friend who is a very good mechanic, have any of you guys fitted this kit your self or of anyone that has,I know a couple of you guys are running you own set ups but must be similar, ktec have said it should take a couple of days to fit the kit,is this about right, just trying to get as much info as possible,it all helps.

Ktec fitted mine and it was 100% reliable I would not attempt to fit this kit myself it's just not worth it, pay the extra money and let them do it. And if there is a problem they fix it!!!!

  KTM 990 SD / S60 D5
The extra money is not a problem, ktec have told me it is nice and easy to fit, plus with ktec being a seven hour round trip it will be nice to have some idea how to fix things if they go wrong,I am just trying to get as much info as possible.

I'm sure they wouldn't sell it without fitting if it was a specialist job, if it cones with instructions your on to a winner. Everyones different and I'll usually give most things a go before getting a specialist to do the work, if your handy with a spanner you'll be fine. Give it ago and if your stuck jump on here, I'm sure with the amount of people with kits someone will be able to look at there's to give you pointers.

Thanks Adeyspec, still not sure if I will fit it myself or get ktec to do it,but it will be done as of next week, can't wait.

mistake no.1

if you want good power, and better economy, get it mapped by someone who knows what they doing.
I took mine up to TDF to see if they could improve the map that Ktec done for me,I didn't have a problem with the map that they did but I just curious to see if it could be improved. After a couple of runs on there RR they told me it was spot on and they couldn't better it and that's coming from one of the best mappers in the uk!!!!

Doms Clio, its not a bad job fitting one, I can come give a hand if need be, I also have a forged engine ready for anyone wanting to up there boost :) Was in paul's RSTuning Clio and has been rebuilt 200 miles ago.

As for induction, if you can get a shortened radiator you can get the filter up to where the standard one fits easily enough!

I spoke to Andy at ktec about getting mine mapped at tdf if I fitted the s/c kit myself,he said they would not be able to do it due to the gen90 ecu.

  Qashcow
Correct, but gen90 costs over £1000, TDF ec1 costs £400 less but isn't plug and play, it will need wiring in etc

mso

And Ktec had locked the ecu...... ;)

Yes the ecu was locked, TDF does it to there's as well! But it still went on there RR and they checked how it was running as it turned out it was spot on that's why it's back at Ktec having more work done to it. If it was not running correctly it would not be at Ktec now!! Trust me if ktec sc kit was crap I would be the first one to **** it off, but its been 100% reliable no problems at all so what can I say!! I'm giving you info on what I have done and not info from someone who knows someones friends brothers etc that knows f**k all. And as for the gripper diff I'm getting fitted they are a fit and
forget item an oil change takes 20 minutes to do every year or so!!!!!

mso

use another ecu then. im sure there are other mappers that could map it tho if you used that.

Check out the RR printouts from power station that adeyspec put up on here I don't need to say anymore on the subject!!

:S sounds wrong to me. Sure if you change the oil regularily then it will improve longevity, but you'll still need the plates replacing.

Backtrack?

That not them saying they couldnt improve on it?

Thats them saying yes it looks and runs fine.

Be interesting to see what TDF say, i cant see them saying "Nope, that is the perfect map and we cant improve on it at all" considering they are specialists.
