Mum washed my keys now car wont start....

Dumbass mother washed my keys, pressed the button and it still made the LED flash so thought it was ok so went to start the car and it just clicks and the immobiliser light stays on instead of dissapering after 3 seconds.
My spare key was shagged so took it apart and resoldered the botton back onto the chipboard and tried that and the same thing happens.
I had this trouble witthe immobilizer before and i had it plugged in and cleared which worked. Am i right in thinking the key which was washed has lost its memory and so the car cant recgnise it therefore making the immobilizer shut down? The spare should still workif i get it plugged in and cleared right? Hope i dont need a new key :(
any ideas??

^She took them out of my room the silly bint!
Think because i tried to start it straight away without letting them dry its made the immobilizer not let the keys start the car.

Ive swapped to using the spare so the key being wet isnt really the problem its that the immobilizer has shut down so wont let me start the car. The light in the middle stays on instead of going out when you turn on the ignition.....

leave it in a warm place to dry out for 24 hours. i did a similar thing with one of my heart rate monitors. I left it for a day in the airing cupboard and it was fine.

The micro swich you soldered back on is for unlocking and locking the doors only. The immobiliser is deactivated by a radio frequency sent via a tiny antena (in the key fob/blip) to a decoder ring around the ignition barrel. Its obviously not getting a message to turn the immobiliser off at the moment. Fingers crossed that with a few hours drying out it will be ok but I can see you having to get a new blip just like I did. £117 for blip, code and vat from reno.

^I know but the spare wasnt wet so if it was the key then it would work with the spare. Im pretty sure itll be a plug in and reset jobbie after looking at autodata

Mine came in the sea with me :D Managed to take apart the key, and leave drying in the sun. Put it all back together and didn't work, then realised I put the battery in the wrong way :p

my dog was once drowning (it wasnt funny at the time) so i jumped in and saved him, with my keys in my pocket as expected. could hear water swashing round in the key but it still started and drove home, so i suspect you need to let it dry out and hope for the best
