here i am sat at work flicking through verious car mags and thinking how i can mod mine, what little or unusual things can i add, suttle changes you know.



thing is i dont pick up my 182 till the 15th of jully and that date could change yet!

Ive had mine for a week and the only thing Ive done so far is to stick a tax-disc holder on! To be honest, after driving it 460 miles up the motorway to Scotland yesterday and seeing the amount of admiring glances it was getting I dont think there is a lot else to do!

Must admit tho Ive been thinking about more body hugging seats in the future but thats about it.

Of course, you could always get a classy FUEL INJECTION sunstrip from Halfords

I have silvervision indicators, blue sidelights, metal tax disc holder, animal doll in rear window, cup badge on rear and soon to be blue painted callipers.

Thats my lot at the mo, but its the little things that count!

I think a Garfield stuck on your rear window would set your 182 off to a tee.

I really want to change my exhaust for a slighlty louder 1 the standards are really quiet i do love the induction noise though when you floor it and it hits the 3000rpm it must sound extremely menacing with a decent IK on it!!!!

Yeah, definately - make it sound like every other spannered-up car out there; thatll sound really distinctive. I spent nearly £2k on my Ibiza and, at the end of the day, its still a car with £2k spent on it; much better saving up for a better base model to start with!

leave it at that, think it looks excellent as standard.



Id leave the exhaust its already being modified by renault hasnt it from the 172 to provide more power etc, mind yet to see/hear one with an aftermarket one.

yeh id like to get the callipers painted as well, you doing this your self or getting someone to do it for you ?

Just continued with the silver 2.016v side badge them with mine.

Have a silver aerial and tax disc holder with yellow renault logo.

2 Cliosport stickers on the rear quarter windows and a carbon fibre private plate with R5 at that start...bit of illegal cutting and the 5 looks a little like RS (for Renault Sport of course) + plus my initials after the R5.

Added a Sony CDX9900 for tunes and clifford G5 Cat 1 Alarm is coming to protect her.

182 Does look well nice in that colour, i know renault have already sorted the exhausts i meant i probably would just change the back section just so i can here her a little more........

Hopefully K-Tec are working on replacement rear boxes, with slightly larger pipes and a meatier growl.

Also wonder how much different the de-cat pipe would be to the 172 as they have changed the exhaust manifold and the cat so its a redesign needed there as well.

Surely you cant have blue headlights etc ? as you have xenons on the 182 !! wouldnt the start up voltage kill em ?

I definatly dont want the pipes any bigger i think there the perfect size, are all K-tecs exhaust really loud im after a slighlty deeper noise nothing to over the top if you no what i mean?>.......

I had the K-Tec Twin 3" on my 172 before I part exd it.

I loved the sound, more.... hmm... meaty. Makes you wanna blip the throttle on downchanges just to hear it

Yep it sure will.

Hence Ive kept my PiperCross Carbon Fibre Viper induction kit ready to fit onto the 182 as soon as I get my grubby mitts on it

thought so, hmm now which one to buy! used to have a green cotton on my old 205GTI, but im thinking of using K&N this time..

might even try the Ecotek thing as well, only thing tho.. does chaging stuff effect the 3yr renault worranty you get if anything goes wrong ?

Dont bother with an Ecotek.
Proven to do jack sh*te!!

As for induction kits....
(In no particular order)
HillPower Induction
PiperCross Viper
BMC CDA
ITG Maxogen

Basically, as long as its an enclosed induction kit, then youll do ok. The Open style ones are no good in the 172/182 etc as the engine bay gets quite warm and the engine then draws that warm air into the block instead of cold air etc.

also any idea about mods making worrants void cos if it would i would put off doing this type of thing for afew months get all the teething problems sorted
