Phase 2 172
So after a couple of years away from renaultsports iv bought another. Picked up a 172 cup in january with the intentions of using it as a weekend/budget track car. It already had a fair amount of spec and is a pritty clean car. Was an ideal buy.
The spec when i bought it was....
Bc coilovers
Grams topmounts
Whiteline rarb
Speedline 2118s in anth
Pms stud kit
Pms spacers front and back
Omp front and rear strut braces
Powerflex dogbone
Vibratec engine and gearbox mounts
Brembo hc with ds2500 fronts and standard renault rear discs and pads.
Goodridge braded lines
Ram air induction
Ktec stealth exhaust
Have a folder full of reciepts for the stuff the oldest being around 12 months for modifications. Alot of history with the car
Since then iv spent a small fortune
Picked up a brand new set of corbeau clubsports
Blue sabelt harnesses
One jon foz subframe one omp
Pms shifter from the group buy
Rear cage
Set of prorace 1.2s with r888r tyres
Did a full service on it
And changed the standard induction bend for a blue one.
Plan is to try and pick up a safety devices cage that has been returned but keep the inside as a clubsport spec.
As for outside the car i have a set of aerocatches to fit to the bonnet. Hope to possibly pick up a set of turinis aswell and change to a pms exhaust. Apart from that its a pritty well speced car as is.
Since owning the car i gained a missfire which had us scratching our heads. We changed the coil pack, leads as it had a blue set but werent magnacore so changed to a standard set plugs and crank sensor. Pulled the injectors and were all spraying fuel. In the end turned out to be the injector on chlinder four it wasnt spraying enough.
Iv done two track days recently at knockhill. The car performed perfectly and with a little help from @172scott managed to drop my lap times by almost three seconds. Really enjoyed both of them and have booked a couple more.
This will no doubt be a love hate relationship ??.
