My 172 versus bus

Car was rear ended by a bus today

The bus couldn't stop in time and just slightly hit the back. Only paint damage but still a HUGE annoyance as I have to get them to view the camers recording from the bus etc.

It's not straight forward, as I had to cut across a bus lane to park on a parking area (there is residential parking and drives etc so I wasn't being a t**t), but the bus was stationary when I started going past it and I pulled in with enough notice and gave the correct signals to say I was doing so. Not exactly sure why the bus driver didn't see me pulling in, but never mind.

This is going to be a headache I could do without.

looks like the bus company may try to deny responsibility, they have had to send the CCTV and drivers accident report off to the insurance company.

I still maintain I gave sufficient space and indication to show where I was going and I was well within my rights to head to where I was going to park.

Will have to see what comes of this.

if he was stationary and with no right hand indicator on when you passed and he proceeded to indicate then he is in the wrong.

9 times out of 10 the person going into the back of someone else is in the wrong

Yes, it hasn't loosened any of the bumper fixing points either. It was minimal impact, I had to look to see if it had hit.

Seriously, get a bodyshop to have a look at it, may well be more damage than you think.

It'll be going to a bodyshop for sure, just waiting to see if the bus company are going to say they'll pay for it all, or if I need to go through my insurance.

Yes, only had it a short while, just under three months I think.
