my 182

hi everyone, fancied making a thred about my car and what its been through in the last couple of years,
also sorry for small photo's i don't know how to get them bigger? help me out someone lol

for a start its a clio 182 and here is my first pick

first thing i decided to get was so nice wheels as she was lowed when i bought her so she deserved something tasty like 17" speedline corse turini's in anthracite

these are old photo's mate the calipers are yellow and look syk but wheels are off car at mo ad i got a crack on the inner rim and trying to sort out either alloy welding or replacing it but the are 180 notes a rim not sure how low as i thought about 60mm but i seen lots of others at 60mm and they not as low as mine so must be 70ish now for the part your gonna hate me for i am getting coilies and going lower when i can afford them just fancy something different if it looks stupid then will just wind them up to how i had it before will see if something to do hopefully next month but need my speedlines back i hate these cup wheels they are really boring me out AHHHH

No mate you do what you want with your clio, it's your car your money, plus with coilies you can adjust the ride height whenever you want to suit your needs so you can try out different set ups. Good luck with tasks you have got on your list of things to do mate

thats cool mate. I am saving up for a 172 cup, in mondial blue (your colour)

When I get my 172 cup I am going to take out rear seats, replace front 2 seats with a pair of Bimarco Expert bucket seats with a pair of red Sabelt 4 point harnesses. Paint rear and front calipers red, and get a 182 exhaust put on to my 172 cup from k-tec. Lastly but not least get it lowered to a nice sporty hight and get a stage 1 ECU remap from JMS Tuning.

mate the 172 will look mint that thing will fly like s**t off a stick you better let me know when you get that bad boy, i need to slow down thats why i'm going for looks now and taking it more steadier hopefully anyway lol good look with that lot sounds like a wicked project i've had so much fun playing with mine and she sound awsome, she whissssssles like she got a dump valve and howles, awwww i blow my load every time i drop her

mate, having had a look at your recent pics, I have got to take my hat off to you dude, your 182 looks apsolutely awesome. Sorry to see the damage the old bat caused to your drivers door when she drove into it, I think old people are more of a danger on the road than anyone else. Apart from that I think your car todate looks very nice mate. I was suprised when I saw the comparison from your 182 when you parked it next to that 172 cup, alloy wheel size, i thought would be hard to tell but your alloys do look alot bigger considering they are only 17" and cup ones are only 1" smaller. Yes I am looking forward to my project mate, as I say it all depends on how my racing goes next season as that will take most of my money up as it does at present, and then got to get a full-time job which i thought i would of got by now. Thankfully I have got a part-time job to keep the money coming in and keep the car on the road.

anyway as thinks were looking up they only decided to go down, i ended up curbing my front bumper doing a turn in the road, and on top of that my speedlines now have a crack in one of the inner rims which resulted in leaking air all the time so now got 182 ones on at the mo and in my opinion are flippin gash, i miss my speedies and need them back A-Stat and i hit a flaming bird lol knocked my grill outta place stupid rat with wings!

anyway things been ok so far my mates just bought himself a megane sport which looks nice so its great to finally have a mate with a similar kind of car that i can chat to about as all my other mates are VDUB owners, not dissing them just sick of hearing about VDUB's all the time lol

anyway that what i got so far will update when i make some changes like coilovers and brembo discs and hopefully get my speedies back on real soon till then let me know what you think so far all good coments thanks guys

One question. As you know one of the things I am thinking of doing when I get my 172 cup is getting the 182 exhaust that is availiable for the 172 cup put on by k-tec. What I don't want it to sound like is a loud rude boy sound I want it to sound nice and sporty with a bit of grunt. Do you know anyone who has got this exhaust system on their 172 cup mate if so know any video's of it so I can listen to it myself?

no bother at all but i'm gonna have to disapoint you i don't know of any i just seen the one you want and if its loud then don't know what to do as they'll take out the silencer from the middle i'm guessing which is why it will probably be loud i'm sorry i couldn't be more help mate good luck on your search

I have seen a clio 172 cup mondial blue on here selling for £1900, but the engine is fucked and may need a new engine rebuild, but I PM'd the seller as he has got a 182 exhaust from k-tec racing on his 172 cup so I have pm'd him to see if he can take a video of sound of it and give me his opinions on it, but he hasn't emailed me back yet. :dapprove:

realisticly wouldn't you be able to put a 182 exhaust on if you did a bit of modding as the 172 cup doesn't come with the spare wheel like the 182 right? or is the boot lower underneith so it wouldn't fit?

yeah i was just on there having a look the cup must still have some sort of wheel well still in the boot, just without the spare wheel lol, still looks amazing when on the car just don't know what it will sound like

yes same I would rather have a listen to someone who has got that 182 lookalike exhaust on their 172 cup as I don't want to spend all tht money and not like it u know mate, tht would be worst scenario but hopefully I won't fall into tht trap.

also had the 17's back on it sunday night and they still look 100% better than the 182 cups need to buy another alloy asap!
