My 1st ClioSport - BG 182 Cup

  (s)Low Dynamique
Used to own a Clio 1.2 75bhp for my first car (been on here for ages):

(If anybody is interested in that build thread it's here: http://www.cliosport.net/index.php?threads/564691/)

Since then I've owned an Arosa sport 100bhp:

A Civic Ep2 (ep3 rep) 115bhp:

and most recently a 200bhp hybrid turbo fabia:

The fabia was a bit damaged so I was trying to sell it for £1500. After getting a load of silly offers I ended up straight swapping for a BG 182 Cup with both packs:

The Clio was standard apart from a decat and panel filter. Covered 112k.

Two days into ownership I snapped my two front springs on a pretty nasty pothole [emoji107] . I seen this as an immediate oppertunity to upgrade, so the next morning I got my other half to run me to demontweeks to get some eibach sportlines [emoji11]

The plan for the Clio is to eventually use it to get into doing some track days - all though I've never done it before. If anybody has any advice etc I'd be highly grateful!

All though this wont be in the near future due to ill health and an operation soon meaning I wont be able to drive for 6-9 weeks [emoji107]

My immediate plans are to do a bit of maintainance such as a full service and cleaning the TB due to it idling rough occasionally (could this be the reason?).

Then eventually I'd like an aftermarket exhaust system, some different wheels possibly turinis and some handling upgrades if anybody has any suggestions for me!

Cheers for reading, I'll post updates as I can [emoji106]

I'm sure I've seen loads of pics of your 1.2 on Instagram?

The BG is already looking 100 times better under your ownership!

I look forward to seeing how this takes shape.

Looking good, need some lowering springs for mine as its got the monster truck look now with 15" on, how's the handling compared to the OE cup springs?

Cheers pal, to be completely honest I can't really compare them as I barely drove it with standard springs! But it does handle quite well, even with the [emoji90] tyres I have!

Nice looking car.

As for the track days, just book one, don't be a hero on your first few laps and concentrate on your lines.

Make sure you're rocking decent brakes, new-ish fluid and some half decent tyres or it'll not be half as fun.

Cleaned up the TB a bit. Didn't manage to get any before pics as my hands were filthy but it was dirty as hell! It's not spotless but still a huge improvement!

Just let it warm up to full temp and it's idling much smoother now - will see if I have any similar issues in the coming days [emoji106]
