My 5k kick seems to have dissapeared slightly after decat :(

I've been meaning to post this for ages but forgot.

I decatted my 172FF about november time, and since i have done this my 5k kick doesn't seem as noticible :S

Is it still there ?

Or have i lost power ?

The exhaust system i have is a full stainless steel poerflow system ith stealth tailpipe

I have also removed my acoustic valve and now have an air feed from my lower grill to my standard 172 Airbox and here there is a K&N Panel filter.

I've the same thing with my 172 when I put the sport cat in! Must be normal!

my 182 with those types of mods also removes the kick pulls better from low down.

Mine did the same when I fitted the maxogen, smoothed the kick out but the torque comes in lower down instead you haven't lost anything.

My old 172 didn't have a 5k kick! it was Power all the way through!

Mine still takes off like a banshee when it gets to 5k. Always has done, before and after the decat.

they all kicked :evil:

The engines vary quite a bit.

kick disappered because you gained torque in the mid range,

car pulls better for sure, kick is just psychological
