My black 172...

Hey all,


Right well where do I start. Basically I bought a liquid yellow 182 about 7 weeks ago. Thanks to some tw*t who couldn't drive the cars now been written off
But to replace it I have decided to get another clio, this time a 172 instead. I was really impressed with my original clio sport so it spurred me on to buy another. I did consider other car avenues to go down, but decided on another as I have a lot of plans that I hope to complete which I didn't get chance to do on my old one.


Right well enough of me rabbiting on. Here's the spec and a few pics of the new one...


* FK Highsport coilovers.


* AST solid top mounts.


* Ferodo DS 2500 pads.


* Brembo HC front discs.


* Cup spoiler. (not yet fitted)


* Cup splitter.


* Black inserts on xenons lights.


* V6 air box.


* 15" Lenso BSX alloy wheels.


* Eibach Spacers.

Small update but an update never the less.


Lastnight I decided to add/adjust a few bits and pieces on my car. First on the list was to drop the rear coilovers down abit more as the car wasn't quite sitting even. When I got the wheel off I ended up adjusting the coils all the way down. It now sits perfect in my opinion and still doesn't catch at mall
Next on the list was to add carbon fibre bullets to the side of my car. At first I wasn't sure about adding carbon to a black car but once I'Md put them on I thought they looked ace.
Finally I added LED sidelight bulbs, clear indicator bulbs and a set of aero wipers. Not the most exciting modifications to add I know but subtle little touches like this make bags of difference to the front end of the car.

Next on my to do list is...


* Add my smaller private plate.
* Powder coat wheels anthracite.
* Add front and rear carbon fibre badges and fog light surrounds.

Tyres were on the wheels when I bought it last week mate. It isn't too difficult to find a place that will do it though ..

change the plates for some clean ones, the back plate looks like cack.

Not 100% sure to be honest mate. Iv only had the car just shy of 2 weeks and havnt been pulled yet so don't I now...

Quick update. Had my wheels powder coated anthracite as they weren't in the best of conditions. Really please with the outcome

They were battered mate and in desperate need of a respray..so opted for a dark colour to replace the silver

I would have done that but because there only replica BBS wheels there only 1 piece so the lips can't be separated from the baskets. The company I used wouldn't mask off the lips either as they said they've had issues in the past doing it

in your first pictures on the silver wheels, there was one exactly the same as that in chichester but had 1.6 on the bullets and a single exhaust cut out into the rear bumper. like say thought it was this at first

Quick update -

Iv been a busy boy and have recently added the following to my car -

* Cup spoiler
* New wheels Pics to follow
* LED sidelights
* Carbon front diamond
* Carbon rear diamond
* Carbon bullets
* Carbon dash strips
* LED numberplate light
* Had the car fully de-dented

Decided I wasnt 100% sure on the anthracite lenso's and found the car a pain in the arse to drive on 15's. Had to run the car mega low to make it look right but having it too low made it non driveable. Opted for new wheels which are same kinda style but are 16x8" with a nice bit of dish! Raised the coilovers up a touch and sits perfect in my opinion. Anyway il get some pictures uploaded tonight...

Update -


Added a few bits and pieces lately to kind of finish the car off. Mostly carbon goodies but the main thing being new wheels

Car is pretty much complete now. Will be big plans scheduled for summer next year but for now I'm happy

Small update but an update non the less...


Car has recently had abit of TLC as its had a few small problems with it since I bought it. Nothing overly exciting but fitted new heater resistor as well as a new hazard switch. Renault garage want £120 for a new resistor unit and I imagine atleast 2 hours labour charge for fitting. I bought a new resistor on ebay for £4 and soldered it on and hey presstoe it was fixed!! As for the hazard switch that was a steal on eBay for £8 as appose to the Renault garages comedy price.
Iv also added 2 new Toyo tyres as the others were bald Had the front end fully laser aligned and now it's setup perfect. Feels superb to drive and nice and tight in and around corners.
Next on the agenda is an induction kit as I've been meaning to get round to buying one for a while now. After that I think I'm going to remove the front headlight washers as they don't work and Iv seen some cool carbon fibre blanks that I fancy instead


Had a spur of the moment picture thought with my iPhone earlier so took a few snaps just before it started getting too dark. Car is sooooo mucky as you can imagine at this time of year...

Few snaps of my car taken from www.hoonigan.com. These are pretty old shots but still cool. Since these shots iv have wider wheels fitted plus a V6 spoiler and my rear windows been de-wipered as well.
