MY Brake pads exploded :(

On my way back from racing lambos at Bruntingthorpe and doing about 80mph on the M1 and the inner brack pad just exploded, heard a huge bang, the car locked up with the piston pushing in soooo much!

Got the car back 50 miles soooo lucky it werent worse!

got new discs and pads on already which is good

have no idea why it went as the pads werent major low

Jeez mate lucky you never span out or anything, Strange how they exploded.. Maybe they were binding slightly and over heated ? Never heard of them going bang before.. Any damage ?

should you not get the caliper looked at?

The pads were low but it just gave way looks like it over heated and must of had a crack as some pad is still on ! Caliper is all fine checked it all over! No no damage all self contained within the wheel well!

why?

you can say you were doing 140mph.... just because you say you were, doesn't mean anything if there isn't any other evidence backing up your story.

You can admit to speeding on forums, the police can't do anything without any further evidence to back it up

i notice people are paranoid about admitting speeding on the internet, they should NOT be if it's only their word that they were. If you then go posting youtube videos to back up your claims then yes, you might get in to trouble, but just saying you were speeding means nothing

I can say i killed somebody yesterday, if there's no other evidence I did, then there's nothing the police can do... who's to say i'm telling the truth?

I notice on Pistonheads they're all paranoid about this stuff and use the stupid phrase "leptons".... no need what so ever :clown:
