My car is being held hostage at Renault Coventry, hehehe

Dropped it in this morning again for the 6th time, after instruction from Renault UK this time.

After i dropped the car in, they wrere told to ring renault UK tech support (lmao)

they think they have diagnosed the problem to be the computer injection system, (so they say)

well soon see if this solves the idling problem in the mornings !!

they also want to keep the car over night now, as they dont have parts available

so im stuck without a car till tomoro afternoon

oh well

Has anybody else had problem with lumpy idling etc....??

Which model is it? 1.8 16v?

Mines sometimes drops down to about 500rpm, before picking back up and idling normally at 900rpm. Happens a few times when cold, but its fine when its warm.....

Mine does the same but hessitates when I put my foot down! It comes and goes thats the strange thing

nah it only seems to do it when its cold or not been used for a few hours and still cold"!

i start it up seems fine, if i press the accelerator, the car will rev at the speed i want, say 2000rpm but then will go up and down (fluctuate) by about 500rpm each side of the actual.

this does it all the way through to 5000rpm

but if left idling is fine!"

If i drive my motor a little after starting it when i stop and its on idle it will barely be tick9ing over at about 400 maybe 300 until it warms up properly then sits nice on 900 not sure why it does that...

Yeah, mine does this. When cold and damp, its juddery in 1st gear and performance is poor. When its bad it starts stalling so i dont know whats up with it - last time they just reloaded the injection software. Another thing is when im slowing down from over 50 and hit a small pothole or something, the brake pedal bounces! - whats that all about? and to cap it all of im greated with a rattle from the sunroof.

Reno say that the iratic idele speed is due to engine instabilities in a high performance engine and there is nothing wrong with it.

DIDNT get a call from renault today to say my car was ready!

i rang up at 2pm and the lady put the phone down on me! cudnt get through again so i waited for them to call !

so far they aint called and its 10pm

looks like ill be screaming down the phone tomoro morning to em

the cars back, after they got me worried and said they had lost it

but picked it up and it feels much better now, but wont be able to test it till tomoro morning in the cold!

Just went and had a blast in the car, was nice and cold when i started it up.

It has the same problem again!

so the origional is not solved, but the eratic idling didnt last as logn thsi time, dissapeared after 2 mins or so

oh and when i took it for a blast i kindda got it sideways for the first time in it

sounds like a problem with the motorised throttle body
