My Clio back to standard-ish?

I read on here somewhere that someone commented that they've gotten a bit embarassed from the roar of their induction kit, so removed it and it's got me thinking... so have I.

Now, I do like the sound it makes because it sounds purposeful, but it also sounds chavvy, so I'm tempted to remove my Viper and put my fogs back in, in place of my unique red-eyes...

Everything else will stay, although I'd like to change my 182 bumper for a 172 with single cut and new backbox, but that costs £££.

So, should I remove the induction kit and quieten the beast down a bit, appealing more to the enthusiast driver, or keep her loud, brash and intake'd up?

Which ever the car performs best with IMO.

You've allready got an exhaust so I'm sure that sounds sweet anyway. Surely someone on here fancy's a 182 rear look and will swap you exhaust and bumper, good chance of the same colour too so no respraying. I'd probably be up for it if I had a silver 172.

Hmm, maybe I'm just a bit bored of it then! The third option aint pretty: sell the 172, get a responsible diesel for a few grand and put the money made towards a house deposit... I'm fighting that one!

I put a 'For Sale' ad up for my bumper and backbox a while ago, as a P/X, but no interest, so don't think anyone's up for it, surprising considering the cost of getting it done via Renault and KTR respectively...

Plus, I've never driven it as standard or without I/K so I honestly don't know how it performs without. It has a decent cold air feed, so I'd imagine in the summer it doesn't make much difference, but it's better performing in the colder atmospheres.

I often think the same. I get a bit embarrassed hwne people turn round when they hear my car......but then I think f**k what everyone else thinks - I did it for power gains not to impress other people.... And my car drives soo much better than it did standard.

I've still got the standard ph1 bumper mate, sorry I should've said ph2 172.

I may put standard rear bumper and backbox back on at some point, but not sure yet... think I'm just bored!

I agree standard is the new way forward, when i pick up my cup im going to put in silvervisions and thats it. spend money keeping it concours
