160hp with a turbo? That will not be slow.

Nice results you must be pleased.

163.... Those 3 can not be lost they have worked hard to earn there place.... Lol.... It's defiantly no slouch... Torque steers a bit in second while spinning the wheels if you a heavy footed.

I wasnt chasing bhp figures at all so when it popped up at 163 I did smile:eek:And then a bit more when andy said in a slightly disappointed tone, there is more, but the injectors need to be bigger as it wants mire fuelling. I thought REALLY! Pump and 330 injectors would be ideal.

Nice result, must be getting on for as quick as a standard 197 now with it having only about 25bhp less but with a much better curve.

So you have the speed of a 1*2/197, but cheaper tax/running costs/spares, !!!!.

Nice! (Of course I am assuming a brake/chassis upgrade follows to handle the extra powerz).

When you look into it cost wise though, you need to factor in that its probably cost him a lot more than swapping to a 197 would have, and its probably more expensive to insure. And im not sure the running costs will actually be less now you have expensive semi-consumable items like the turbocharger to consider which you dont on a 197, so while Tax certainly is a bonus, im not sure financially its the bonus you think it is.

I have ktecs "upgraded disks" and green stuff pads to go on and saving for 4pots. it's lowered 40mm spaced 25 each rear wheel, and 20 each at front. can't find any braces anywhere. Smaller steering wheel makes a massive difference.

Chip I'm sure itll need more upkeep, I mean head gasket upgrade is a must and I can see it needed forging to keep it running healthy too. I'd be happy to keep this power and forge it with a lighter flywheel and better clutch to be honest, I don't drive it hard so hoping itll hold together until I can afford to forged bits.... Hoping they become available soon!!!

On the 197 front he looked very surprised when I was able to keep with one today..... :)

Saw you today on the m27 in my 200. I literally read this thread before I left as well!

Was impressed with how quick it was! Wasn't enough room to have a proper boot though!

I did have company in the car too so only a little squeeze on the throttle. Didnt want to hurt the mpg to much :)

799+vat just for the rods? Flol, you really need to be shopping around on those unless you are getting arrow.
Thats about twice what rods normally cost for most engines. Ktec arent normally great value on parts by the way, in case that is where you are looking.

Hay chip... I am not spending more than 2 thirds of my total spend on the project so far on some over rated over priced rods.... lol. Cat cams do them at the moment. Seriously over priced... I'd be happy to spend say 400-500inc vat. I doubt anyone has bought a set at that price.

no good without head bolts, pistons, head gasket, etc.

Yeah I would think the pistons will be a problem before the rods anyway, if they are the usual renault rubbish like the 172 ones

Thats good to know, I spoke with omega and they wanted infromation on the pistons to see if they had made similar ones before as this would be cheaper than a fresh new one off. They only sell them in sets of 12 otherwise..... Ouch!! Apparently with cosworth, it's minimum of 24.....

What do I know about the pistons, they are individually oil cooled from underneath and are based on the 1.4 mk2 pistons, not slot to go on is it :-(

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
Is the under piston oil cooling just a hole in the rod, or an actual squirter on the block like a 197 has?

  Clio tce
It's under the piston a jet style, the piston has a small indent to accommodate the jet.

Iirc cossies used this kind of thing too. I don't know about the 197 engine so can't say if it's like that or not, so far tce has sodium cooled vales like 197 and piston oil squirts like 197....

The jet cant be part of the piston, as the piston has no oil supply.

YB Cosworths run a complete seperate rail with oil squirter on them for the early ones, and then the later (escort) cosworth blocks run ones like the 197 drilled into the oil gallery of the block.

It's under the piston not part of it. So I guess it's part of block. It's on YouTube "Renault tce engine" working videos of it.

Found this which was quote cool, but didnt spot any squirters while flicking through it:

Which one do you mean, and how many mins/secs in so I dont have to watch all of it?

couldnt see any cutouts in the piston like you say either, which didnt surprise me TBH as that sounded silly anyway.

You dont take crit very well do you?

I had a fancy J's racing intake on my ek9 years ago, heat shield and all that jazz. The standard honda setup ran the coolest intake temps. I'll say no more.

Anyways, congrats for hacking a squint hole in your bonnet.

Good to hear your Honda story. If people don't like then vent and bonnet being raised slightly that's fine with me.

Thanks Martin, seems your looking to start an argument or just be publicly abusive. i read the posts it's all taken on board, people's opinions are welcome, as are mine.

Email address for them!?!?
i dont know, its not from my country too :x
but probably you have to send an email for them, an explain your situation, that you are not from italy but you want to know the price and how you can order the pistons to a renault clio 1.2 tce 100bhp...
in the field of SUBJECT HEADING you have to choose "Assistenza x prodotti acquistati" that means assistance and purchase of products, them you attached the piston image and write the text about your situation.
because in the site of PROTOXIDE when we write "tce" and appears the tce pistons, the diameter is incorrect, because in the field to choose the diameter just have two options 72mm and 72.40mm and thats not the diameter of 1.2 TCE engine, the correct diameter of 1.2 TCE engine is 69mm (like you can see in the image), so you have to email them, to order the pistons.
send them this image, because this is a piston made by them,PROTOXIDE:

i hope that helps ;)
