my cup idles at 1k

Find somebody with a rstuner or I think the renault clip tool can tell.

Could just be your gasket leaking a tiny amount on your TB.

standard car is 7250 > most mapped cars are around 7400/500

also the cold start lower limit is usually history

there must be a problem, unless you're just not letting it warm up.

if it idles at 1k it wont pass an MOT

The RSTuner remap sets the rev idle over 900rpm, mine idles at about 1000rpm when its warm with rs tuner, it idles at 1500 when its cold. Mine passed the MOT fine with a 1000rpm idle as it isnt an MOT tested item, they are only interested in emissions at a specific rpm not the RPM at idle.

Sort of correct most go to 7800 and almost all that I know of keep the lower limit when the engines cold. Would be stupid to do away with it as its there to protect the engine.
