I have 2 corbeau clubsport seats, 4 point sabelt harnesses and a full safety devices roll cage sitting in my garage at the moment waiting to go in. tbh im in 2 minds what to do, ill only fit the rear cage as I think the full cage is too much for the road, and I will keep the original interior so I can swap it back if I wanted to keep it oem. I think the seats are rear cage will make it a bit more "special" for occasional blasts.

I agree, cups look great even now imo. such a nice colour and wheels suit it so well. great fun little cars as well.

Looks cracking that mate! As a fellow owner, they really did get these Cup's so right 'out of the box'. Love mine and won't ever part with it, great little cars!

@Kev@KAM has 25% off bilstein iirc. ??

The 172 cup is a great looking car. The whole package is spot on and it was a bargain new buy which is proved by how many people saw past the lack of fancy seats and air-con and bought into the lightweight fun car ethos. Future classic for sure, don't let any standard parts get lost.

I've already bought new Cup dampers which are waiting to go on. I thought if i make that decision quick then i wont be tempted to stray. Yeecups car does look the absolute business though i have to say.
The R needs tyres, so they would have to wait anyway :D

Just a shame they kept those wanky headlights and didn't put the xenons in.

indeed. I actually bought one brand new back in 2002, paid £10500 and sold by s2 escort rs turbo for one. shame the escort would now be worth more than I paid for the cup. lol.

The cup was always a car I remembered with great memories hence why I wanted another one all these years later and it didn't disappoint.

Driving the way the Cup does, and for a brand new price of £10,713 (what mine cost in 2003) I'd have been happy with candles in jam jars tbqfh.

If Xenons are that important to you then you go buy a normal 172.

But that colour  And those wheels.

My ideal OEM+ spec would be a cup body with turinis, trendlines and xenons

Love it! Don't ever change those period correct wing indicators for clear ones!

I would fit clears. Think later Cups had them anyway?

Just a shame they kept those wanky headlights and didn't put the xenons in.

That's part of the appeal for me. It was a basic car and the basis for the Clio Cup rally cars. It's poverty spec is exactly why it's so appealing. But I appreciate that I am a total nerd.

You can always modify it mate & then keep the original parts like i have. Then you can easily put it back to standard if need be.
I changed my headlights to black xenons, they just look better.
I recently put Team Dynmaics Pro 1.2 on mine but also kept the turinis as i love both.

well its modded a bit already tbh and yes I agree as long as I keep the original bits (which I will) then I can always swap them back one day.

Gotta love a bit of rake!! :) If you are in two minds about the clubsport seats i wouldn’t worry. They are really comfortable, even on a long journey and the improvement in driving position was one of the best mods i have done....and i have done a few lol. Your car looks epic mate, i do look at those turinis and think i shouldn’t have sold mine.

This Reg looks really familiar? Was it a guy from Wolverhamptons car about 4 years back?
