My day at angelworks....

Been to Agelworks today to get my inlet matched so took some photos (crap quality, there off my phone) to show the quality of the work. It's ben's day off but he still fitted me in although he's ultra busy which is amazing, not many people would do that.
Got ther around 12 and he let us in, the workshop is SPOTLESS and the machines he's got in there i didnt dare touch! No wonder he's got such a reputation,I'd heard alot about the manifolds on the RS clios but with my 1.6 having a gay plastic inlet was told i might not gain anything but its made my car more torquey and free revving, 3rd gear has a completely different feel now, pulls from really lown down the rev band as if im in 2nd. Very impressed since i wasnt actually expecting any significant gain in power, more response. The pics dont do the manifold justice, Seriously the quality of work is awesome!
Overall, he's a genuinely nice bloke and stupidly talented. Anyone thinking of engine work this is the place to be.....

Also spoke to him about future mods i could do to make power and we've come up with a mint idea so watch this space 1.6 owners, it should be a MASSIVE upgrade on the inlet side of things!

He said something about it once its all designed and fitted to my car if i get people to buy it! Dont want to say too much as its completly left with Ben and his engineer but the idea we come up with 'should' give a very decent gain....

You cant really ake out whats been done but there used to be a ridge at the bottom of the port and its been ground flat now to follow the new alloy peice

You on commission mini-valver?

Could almost say that, in all honestly i said he would be bearing the brunt of what is 'development' cost, so i said if he makes a sale of the same item i'll give him comssion so he can make some back. Only fair i thought.
 
i know i have a small engine and its a 1.2 and i will only get the "buy a bigger engine comments" lol but can anything be done to mine like this to get some power gains?

i have to keep the car since i am about to come out of uni, have 0 no claims after being on family insurance for 4 years etc and so will be starting up on new insurance in 6months time. . . with 6 points and a bump on my record (not my fault but t**t said 50/50 as was at a roundabout with no witnesses)

^ If your 1200 has a alloy lower inlet then it can be done but dont expect mega gains but i certainly notice a difference in 3rd and 4th gear.

Ben, thats fair as fair can be! TBH i cant see it not giving decent gains so im happy to pay what we discussed and push them so I can make a little back! top bloke.....

Huh? No, I was alluding to your naive acceptance of the tuning hype.
Like the way you think you've got 190+bhp with a re map,panel filter and de cat.
 
i'm no basketball player.........well maybe point gaurd lol.

But the bench was built high so i dont have to hunch when porting, thats the dust extracted dirty room so its a bit rough in there.

Seems fine now though! Take it that it can just stay with that other end unblocked and just let the vapour come out of that or should i get another pipe and try that??
Your not kidding, might wear me thermals next time ;) Tea keep me warm though!
Few people have PMed me asking about the 'thing' so hopefully we'l both get something good out of it!!
 
lol, long johns are what you need!

You can try another pipe if you want, nothing will happen regarding the carbon canister eitherway......but you'll have to take the headlight out again as the connection on the canister end is a bugger.

am i able to send the inlet to you ben then have it sent back to me (At my cost obviously!) as ive got one of these engines coming my way in feburary.

also what sort of cost are we looking at to have a custom manifold made that isnt plastic? im thinking the costs would make it not worth the hastle.
