Whats the loss between fly and the wheels? for some reason i thought it was 30% but that could just be a figure that i picked out the air!!

I am really not suprised by the figures you got...

The clios were always notorious for producing substantialy less HP than declared...the power actually varies from arond 145 hp all the way to 175, so its a matter of luck really if you get a good or a bad one...

mine 5-year old mk1, with 50k on the clock put out 162.1 at the fly, but i have a bad (slighty burned-out clutch) and i ran it on super98 gasoline at the time, so with a new clutch and super100 gasoline i estimate it should be putting out a bit more...

still, i wasnt aware that the transmision losts could be so massive - 27% is quite a lot, as the average losses vary around 20%...

I think that many 172 owners would be suprised if they took their cars on rollers...i know two more clio owners who got significantly less HP on their cars than declared - one got 152 on his mk2, the other 147 on his mk1...both fairly new at the time...

i dont know if the 182 still has this problem, but it was a big issue with the previous models...

as for my figures, dont worry, they are to be changed soon ;)

My Mk1 172 was RRd at AMD Bicester (Porsche/VAG specialists) and got 170.5 bhp at the fly :D

Just a green cotton air filter too.

Close enough for me.
