Just got a phase one 1.2 16v the other week and wanted to know what you guys think? and any suggestions are welcome :approve:

what im planning to do:
1. coilovers
2. oz f1s in white
3. phase 2 door strips + lights + boot

Keep it maintained and save the money to get an RS later down the line. I'm so glad I did.

yeahh we photoshopped a picture with the white and it didn't go to well :dapprove: and yeah i wish i cold but the temptation to mod it is too much i just hope i can get the money back when i plan to sell it.

You will never get the money back if you mod a car FACT!

BUT

This looks a tidy car and White DOES go with silver ots been done many of times (search this site)

Plans also sound good although I would stick with ph1 lights and spend the money on a cup spoiler insted

Sounds like you have some good ideas for the car matey.

I would say save your money until you can afford a sport, as that is the most sensible thing to do, but I was the same as you and I just had to mod my old 1.2.

The problem with saving is you have to save for a while. I'm now 21 and got a few years no claims (some on a bike) and if I saved I could buy a 172 but the insurance for me is around £4000 a year!!! Which is just mental and not worth it at all, I won't loose £4000 modding the car unless something mental goes on it haha. However definitely don't do anything too expensive, especially if your new to the road. But to be fair you can do what you like it's your car and it's a decent base.
