My first Mk3 - Ultra Red R27 with Akrapovic

My dads Clio 138 dynamique s thing has a little boot spoiler on it, it doesn't look bad at all. I think one of those would look ok.

I can only compare to budget 215s on the front and worn out punctured contis on the back so yeah, big difference, all positive so far. Even made the speedo bang on!

Yeah I expect so. Wee bit chunkier than before, when the H&R 30/40 get bought and fitted I think it'll look spot on

Had a short time after work today with no wife or kids so quickly bled the brakes ready for track on Wednesday. Old fluid didn't look too bad but I'm sure the braided hoses only went on last year. But I'll bet it wasn't with RBF600 like it is now.

Spot the new caliper!

The only other thing it's got now is the spacers. Which id like to take off for track but I can only find 5 standard wheelbolts in my piles of Renault nuts and bolts.

It'll be interesting, only ever driven mk2s on track

I might have a full set from the green one when I stud converted it.... if they are here then I’ll bring them up Wednesday night.... I also have shed loads of new bolts here too so I’ll bring a selection to see if they fit.....

That would be sweet thanks. I plan to put studs on eventually but I'd rather not do a track day with those big long bolts I've got now. I mean I will if I have to, I'd just prefer not to

Well big thanks to @cpaterson76 for the standard length wheel bolts tonight, quickly whipped the spacers off and went out on track.

I wanted to do one with as it came as possible to see what sort of time it could do and what I should concentrate on mods wise. Only mods on it are the akropovic, powerflex torque mount engine mount thingy, braided lines and half worn ds2500. Used RBF600 brake fluid and brand new Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres. So to end up with a 63.9 second lap which is only 2 seconds behind my fully track dedicated ph1 with a strong engine is unbelievable to me. I thought I'd be doing well to get into the 65/66 second range. It was damp as well.

The things it highlighted is that the original rear shocks are absolutely done and need changed next. And then it's time for some 888R and better brake pads, never been a DS2500 fan and know that there's better out there like the DS1.11 and uno.

I'll keep an eye out for track pics so these will have to do for now

Rears are the same, although as a whole the 200 cup setup if alittle stiffer than r27/ 197 cup setup. And later front 200 topmounts/shocks are different from earlier 200 and197 topmouns/shocks.

Thrilling update time but it's good for my own records!

Replaced the very leaky vvt solenoid seal to hopefully cure the oil leak and resulting smell

And then easily gained a full second round Knockhill by removing the tool kit except for the tow hook and the bonnet insulation. If nothing else I think it looks better without if nothing else.

Well this may not have been my cleverest idea of all time but it's my car so it's gotta be how I want it. And covered in stickers isn't for me. Even if they're really expensive stickers. On a limited edition model.
A red limited edition model. One that's been painted.

Anyway, pics are required, hopefully with a good machine polish the doors and rear bumper will look better

No amount of polish is going to fix the front though.

Looks much better imo. I hate stickers. Renault have a real habit of sticking them on special editions too. The Megane Trophy being another example. Looks so much nicer without.

Are you going to get the front bumper painted?

Well as you can see it's been badly painted before so I'm not sure if I should get this one done, get another one painted or just wait for a red one to come along.

I'm not particularly precious about it and it'll get damaged on track but it's worse than I'm happy with for sure.
