If like you claim, you did most of those modifications, thank your lucky stars you've still got a girlfriend.

Those mods don't go down too well on here. If you/your mrs like them that's all that matters :)

Have a look at the non sport pics thread on here for some ideas for some nice clean modded examples.

  GSXR + KDX220
It definately looks better than the 1st pic for sure, although.....I hate number plates like that with a passion, I just think they look gash :S But if you like them then so be it!

Oh and lexus lights :(

Colour coding it makes such a difference to the overall look though, good job ;)

Right now tell me where we went wrong? Is it because she doesnt fancy putting a 172/182 kit on the car for money reasons and the fact its a 1.2. The car is well praised over here on n.irelands biggest site and they also helped towards the ideas. Ive looked through some threads on here and i can see alot more work put into this car than some, and for a woman driver throwing in an engine conversion or the likes doesnt appeal to her. So let me know of more cons which will be changed on the car

Currently the wheels don't suit the lows it has, the splitter being CC'd looks a bit odd too. The exhaust is a bit overkill, the plates should be done in a legal font and smaller plates would look good. A dynamique spoiler wouldn't go a mis either just to finish the rear end off and a sport grill up front would look good too.

These are just suggestions of course, if you like it etc etc...

Will look a million times better with the bbs wheels, personally I would go with 3/4 front plate, and standard rear, get an rs grill, and a dynamique spoiler and it will look spot on

  172
Like what you did with the 16v badge (binned it!)
Like the wheel refurb (even if I don't like the wheels)
Like the colour coding.
Like the fact you HAVEN'T gone straight for a 172/182 rep and make it look like every other 1.2 out there.
Like the standard lights (hope you burned the other ones!)
Like the subtle tints
Like the cleaner plates (but not the font)
Like the black calippers/drums
30mm lowering suits it perfectly!
I will even confess to thinking the exhaust looks ok, as long as I can't hear your car.

Looks great at this point! Done with attention to detail, isn't over the top, doesn't look like a "try hard" rudeboi and you've made a big improvement for very little money :)

IMO 70mm ruins it. Purely due to how a macpherson strut works, the lower you go the more inwards the wheels appear (but not in a good way like camber on a correctly spaced wheel). You could use spacers, but it'd still look like just another brap brap 17 year old who thinks he's a rudeboi.
IMO the plate font looks s***.
IMO wind deflectors look s*** but these are hardly anything massive.

Other than that I think you've done a good job. Car has got a million times more mature looking since you took all the tacky rubbish off (lexus lights, Halfords 16v badge etc)

Why is it all Irish kids have those horrible plates on? Looks better colour coded though.

why put in 6x9's? you don't go to a cinema and listen to the main body of the sound coming from behind you, so why do it in your car?

Not sure how up to date it is.

OP - the sort of mods you have done dont wash to well on here, just get used the the opinions and you will be fine. Aslong as your GF is happy thats all that matters :)

I like the exhaust, I have a smaller dual one on my 1.2 as well, but I have a thing about exhausts just hanging there :/

I have mine cut into my bumper, I realise this means "damaging" the bumper, if you wanted to put it back to standard.. But I prefer them cut in

When I was dating a bird in NI, not once did I see a nice looking car. They were all shitboxes and all ragged to f**k.

i wanted to scream and shout at first but you really saved it :) although a sport grill and dynamique spoiler would finish it off nicely :)

The car is getting raised next weekend as the splitter is geting it hard atm, she wanted the splitter kept colour coded when it was getting redone so i cant argue with the boss. Aye we are looking about a spoiler and grill atm any links?

She likes her music and likes a bit of bass, bit s**t having a car with a crap audio system for longish journeys

And yea Graffite ( i think thats how you spell it ) is like a darkish grey colour

Mixed views but keep them coming

pm wests renault on here for the grill mate... if you become a paid member youll be able to see the for sale section... theres always spoilers popping up on there. if you dont wanna do that check ebay.

it looks like hes put them on too low... they should be just under the line of the door

Aye its getting raised as she cant get into tech atm lol.. She wanted to go real low for the start to use the full potential of the coilovers and see how it handles, no point in forking out the money on coilovers to not use their potential, woulda just got springs. Low and Slow is the theme over here, must be completely different over in England, but sure thats culture and shes happy with the outcomes and thats the main thing, her car her choices. But shes seen comments and is taking them on board so cheers guys
