My new 172

I sold the Trophy a while back and ended up driving round in this stunning clio:

It's a 1.4 baccara (sp?). So slow. The lights didn't work properly, all four tyres had punctures, it had a massive oil leak and it was very dirty inside. Couldn't complain to much as I didn't pay for it!

But now I have this:

It's a 51 plate 2001. 27K miles. 2 owners from new. FSH.

Spent most of saturday cleaning the inside. it's now imaculate and has virtually no marks!

The exterior needs tidying up. Few carpark dents and three of the wheels are curbed and it has those nasty wheel weights on the outside of the rim. I plan to wax it this weekend but I'll wait to sort the bodywork and wheels until spring next year.

I'm thinking of lowering it and maybe change the colour of wheels and aftermarket exhaust.

Oh yeah the brakes seem better than my trophy's were! It doesn't have as much of a kick at 4000rpm but still feels pretty nippy!

I'm happy again now and have quite a large smile constantly!

I'd recommend a cup/k-tec splitter....really transforms the front end

I sold the trophy because I wasn't using it and it was a lot of money to have sat on the drive looking pretty. I really wish I hadn't sold it, but I lost very little money which is good for me when it comes to cars! I cycle to work and only really need a car to get to football twice a week.

I had no plans in getting another Sport until this one came up for sale at a price I couldn't refuse! Plus it's getting damn cold cycling to work so i'll drive the car over the winter.

It's no trophy but at a lot less than half the price it's a great car and I'm over the moon with it.

Fair do's. Theres not really that much difference between any of the RS clio's at the end of the day. Smart move if the Trophy was'nt being used enough. Let it go to a happier home

It has hardly been used and I know both the previous owners so can vouch for the cars history.

LOL. It's not an auction it's the yard of my Dads garage. They are a few scrap cars waiting to be collected or repaired.

I quite fancy going for black when I refurbish the wheels. I think I'd need to lower it at the same time otherwise it'll look awful. Time to fire up photoshop to see how it'll look.

Looks like a great example Nigel,especially with just 27k on it. Makes my 40k in 10 months look,erm different,lol.

LOL! The best thing was just leaving it anywhere unlocked and knowing no one would pinch it!!!

No ESP or cruise! It did have the 6 disc changer. Until I took it out to replace it with my Headunit!

It might have been 5000rpm. Thought it was just over 4000rpm though in the trophy. Can't remember! LOL

This one does change slightly but not as noticeable. It's a lot smoother.

About £100 from K-tec which is cheaper than the OE one

Reccomend taking the bumper off to fit properly though.....there was no way I was going to secure it to the car using the self tappers provided.

Nice idea with the wheels, I have the same model and I'd be curious to see how that looks if you manage to get round to Photoshopping it.
