Tony's work is ace, Every one who has seen mine has said nothing but good things :approve:, gear nob insert looks cool

Wow those parts look great!! Whats the fitting like, looks good in the pics but any issues?

glad you're happy J, the gearlever insert was fiddly but really does look the part with the rest of the bits...

fit should be perfect as has already being said, original parts are used.. obviously the carbon laminating adds a certain extra thickness, but usually I make the right decision about where to trim it to lol..

all the best

been done, i did it beginin of the year. didnt like it as people know its not real carbon fibre. laminate doesnt have the depth to it. deffo not worth it for the price

clvs2222, sorry to say it mate but you're talking bollox, tell me exactly what isnt "real" about the carbon fabric I use??

agreed its NOT solid carbon fibre, but you dont have fixing issues to worry about as you use the original part..

as for the "lack of depth" I can guarantee you my stuff looks as good as, if not BETTER then a lot of pre-preg stuff as I dont use conventional finishing techniques...

as for the price, I suppose thats governed b what people will pay, maybe yu should ask J or jamesstone if the items they got were worth the money and THEN make your sweeping statements..

all the best, your opinions are respected, but please dont assume because you THINK they are right they actually are..

Tony

ps mods if this is out or order I apologise, please delete as appropriate

^^ very un-appropriate comments there. i wasnt even talking about yours in particular if you read. i did exsactly the same thing. i know what it looks like. as you also said it looks "better". so it doesnt look like carbon fibre.

hmm, ok, I suppose people can see for themselves wether it looks like carbon fibre or not, again everyone has an opinion...

apologies if I jumped the gun above, edited out the bolshy bit..

Tony

just re-read your post, are you talking about the stick on carbon effect vinyl??

is that what you tried??

if so then I can see your point, but this most certainly is NOT that lol.. far from it...

Tony

hiya ben, i'm not sure what material they are made out of, or how they actually fix onto the wheel, can you elaborate on these 2 things for me please..

I am more then happy to have a look if you know of a pair for sale anyhere..

Tony

ah right, what sort of material are they ben? and would the rigidness of carbon not affect what they feel like??

basically if they are solid plastic with a softer coating (removable) then I should be able to do them...

If anyone has a pair for sale at a reasonable price I can buy them and have a look np probs...

I would disagree that it looses any depth, I personally cant tell any visual difference from the trim Tony has done laying the fibre over the original trim and then bonding it on to any of the other solid Carbon Items I have!

Very Happy with it and well worth the money IMO Looks so much better than the silver dash inserts or "Stick on" Carbon Plastic sheets.

The Thumb grips are next on my list, But hoping that Streamline carbon make them, you wouldnts be able to cover the standard thumb grips as they are rubber so will require a Mold being made to cast the carbon.

Thanks Again Tony for doing these, top quality and top price IMO.

There rubber i believe. The problem is there is no solid base underneath, as far as im aware its completely rubber. So it would probably involve having to make a plastic mould then doing the carbon over the plastic.

Im not sure tho as im no expert :)

thanks

ah right, ok guys, cheers for the explanation, I'll leave that to the experts on here then as my stuff is solely for looks really and i dont usualy make solid items, just cover origina bits...

saying that if anyone does have a SPARE pair of these grips, maybe a knackered pair, I dont mind trying to see if I coud cover them, the fact they're rubber might not be a problem, and I'm prepared to try if anyone wants to send me a set..

all the best

Tony
