It is mate! Needs minor TLC but nothing like the other heap.

I'm going to fit the new lights tomorrow as the current ones are rusty and dull and if I've got chance, (if there's enough light!) do the Cambelt and water pump just for peace of mind.

Next week I'll send it to the body shop to get the new battery tray fitted and the door repaired (been broken into 4 times in the last 8 weeks) and then I'll have a proper nice car. :)

So today saw my third 400 mile round trip in the space of 7 days, all for ford orions...

I collected the crap one from Matthew on here who kindly looked after it for me.

I got it home and just dumped it outside the park. I'll look at it when i'm on a day off. I did go back to the good one and decided to fit my brand new lights... FAIL! The plastic sockets that sort of push and click, shattered into pieces. I'm assuming a combination of freezing cold weather and old plastic (Despite them being brand new) wasn't good.

I'm taking a day off this week to swap some bits around before I put the crap one onto ebay, i'll update with some pictures then.

VOO was on my Frp and a Fiesta I had.

RPU was on about 4-5 Fords in my family.

RPU (According to DVLA) was reg'd in Essex when it was new. And that's where I bought it from.

Love the pepperpot wheels. Trying to scan a pic I dug out of my old dears from back in 87, it's the old phase 1 shape though, yours looks much better.

Whats the mrs think?

That i'm a t**t mainly.

I had a mk1 orion (Mk3 escort shape) in black, it was my first. But I ended up rolling that. My Dads was a mk2 (so mk4 escort shape) but was a really early one being a 86 C reg, so it was a mix of mk1 trim bits on a mk2 shell.

So the same as the rest of us then. Quite nice that orion though!

Yeah cheers then.

I just drive the two back to back and the shitter drives better! FFs.

My neighbour came out and asked if I was ok, thinks I'm having some sort of breakdown! Lol

What's better about the shitter???

Steering a lighter, clutch is lighter. That's about it though. The rest of it is complete toss

Tell a lie, it's got 4 nearly new tyres so they'll be coming off as well.

So basically you've got one that looks like sh*t but drives good
and one that looks good but drives like sh*t?

It doesn't drive s**t, just not as good as the shitter.

Once i've done the tracking and put new tyres on it, i'm sure it will drive a lot better!

Bring the s**tter to Llandow ;)

Joking aside, the new one looks lovely, and at least you can pillage the s**tter for spares / better condition bits and bobs if there are any.

FLOL at neighbour thinking you are having a breakdown :) These chapters in your life shall be known as 'the Orion saga'.

The good one looks good! I'm not a big Ford fan but wish I kept hold of my Dad's 1989 Escort - Ghia. Same year I was born and you never see any, had silly mileage aswell as we bought it off my Grandad. Its a brown/gold colour. Sold it on the driveway with a sticker in the window for something like £400

Very nice! But lol @ £2450.

And its a EFI not a MFI so it wouldn't be for me.

Mine is still the best buy i've seen on there for ages!!

You be home Sunday mate? I've managed to clear some space so can collect it at long last! Your neighbours will be relieved! Lol

Lukey, I'll swap some bits over from the two cars (drivers seat, tailgate, radio etc) and just chuck the s**t on eBay. £1 start no reserve and just put it down to experience. Costly error but hey ho.

I wanted this Essex one to start with but missed the auction! Settled for the one in Yorkshire, now ended up with the one in Essex

tw*t.

So, bit of an update.

I put the crap one from wakefield on eBay for £10 start no reserve and let it run. I've had unreal amounts of interest. The two blokes badgering me most are from miles and MILES away. North Wales and Newcastle!! Madness.

I have done some work to the good one. Including fitting a new boot spring, new headlights, new bulbs, new front tyres. Still to do is get some paintwork done, find some 15 inch Escort Finesse wheels and 195-50-15 T1R's, then new suspension all round. Back in the day I had PI 60mm lowering springs and KYB shocks and it was superb. I'll probably go with that again.

Here's the shitter on the bay; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171055583036?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Here is the nice one (Which i'm keeping) after a good 8 hours of polishing. Nowhere near good enough to show it, but it's getting there...
