After the sad demise of the 172 ive been out today and thrown a deposit on a very special new toy

She is totally pristene!! only 19k on her and she looks and drives as new, going to pick it up soon and wrap it in cotton wool

I intend to dude, after killing a 172 good n proper ive realized jus how easy "going for a burn" can turn into "going to A&E"

i got my 16v a few weeks back and before i bougth it the man who owned it had the bonnet fully sprayed and a dent filled. the first night i drove it (a week after the spray) a stone or bird hit my bonnet and chiped it good and proper

just hope the same doesnt happen to you, i was well gutted, love my car though sure you will. just pisses me off i need to spend another 100 squid to get it perfect again

I know straight line only counts for so much, but the 172 as std is quicker than the Williams as std. To back this up, same roads, similar air temps and road conditions (dry, cool), same AP22 calibrated in same manner, both my cars:

Edit - thinking about it, look how much lower the Williams came from the factory than the 172. The tyres fill the wheelarches. Both 172s that Ive had have looked like they were on stilts. They handle so much better lower, and Renault should have provided them that way to start with.

have to agree with every one else stone chips are a b**ch my 16v looks like its been shot at !

id only had it a day when i went for a blast up the A127 and a breakdown truck with a lorry on it had some massive stone fly out of it and the b*stard thing hit my bonnet. Ive gotta get sprayed.

Cheers all, say sorry to ur mate dean but believe me there was no way after seeing that car i was letting it go to any1 else!!

In terms of speed i think me 172 will ave been faster but when i drove the williams everything felt so tight its fair to say it hasnt been opened up much, not too fussed really anyway as my "race anyone" days are over where this car is concerned

hehe thats what i said when i bought my willy 1 lol

it worked for about ....oooooooooooooooooo an hour n half lol

then it was a quik spin up the mway on way home to see how fast it will go,my bonnet now looks like ive driven thru a sandstone storm lol, dunt slow me down any tho

btw a willy will beat a 172 no probs hehe

and bri mate.......please dont wrap this car up in cotton wool. it was built to be driven and driven hard,they all were lol
