My New Toy (Pearl white Subaru Impreza STi-8)

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Unfortunately its in radio controlled form. Its a Tamiya TT01, which is pretty much the most BASIC R/C 4wd touring car on the market and costs about £79.99 in kit form.

Now I used to be really into R/C cars (I mean really, went round the uK racing etc etc) But quit to fund my modified real car (biggest mistake ever) However, now I'm a bit better off, and not modding real cars I've started again. Like I said, I started with the most basic touring car you can get however, Theres a twist. Imagine taking a 1.0 VW Lupo, putting top of the range coilovers and top of the range drive shafts and bullet proofing the drivetrain. Imagine then getting the chassis stiffened up (in the case carbon fibre upper decks and front and rear suspension stabilisers. Imagine then putting in making EVERYTHING adjustable, So you can adjust the camber and toe in/out at all for corners, and then put in some top of the range LSD's.

All this is for a reason. Imagine in this same race prepped Lupo, you are putting in an engine out of a Porsche Carrera GT. Even people on the R/C forums think im a loon, and TBH I think my choice of motor is a little OTT, but hey!

The Spec list is for anyone who is stlll reading is:

Tamiya TT-01 Turnbuckle Tie-Rod Set (TGS) #53662 TT01

The motor/ESC combo is the real party piece, its a Novak GTB ESC and a Novak Velociti 5.5R Racing Brushless motor with sintered Rotor. This motor is rated at 7,400 rpm per volt, (I'm running 7.2 volt, so the motor is revving to over 50,000rpm :)

Oh and I've even got some "real" Volk TE37 rims on it :D

ahh the memories of when I used to do this, then the track moved too far away for me to follow :( I ended up buying a Tamiya offroader and its indestructible. I had to upgrade the motor though its rapid :D
That looks pretty decent buddy, should be nippy.

thanks :)

I'm looking at a brushless emaxx on ebay............................. This is getting expensive..........

  a burnt one
Nice choice of hop-up's mate, i went through a phase of r/c car madness, bought a 1/8th scale nitro powered skyline, used it twice then sold it, a few months ago i bought the dream car, an Escort Cosworth, like you'rs a tt-o1, probably the most basic but also the most reliable and common, easy to get spares for car, so far ive used in once in four months.

I want more speed but have no idea what i need, you sound like you know so maybe you can pm me some advice?

let me know your budget :) These brushless set ups are they way to g ofast, But by the time you have got a few upgrades, some decent batteries anda charger you looking at £400+. I doubt you wanna spend that much, But i presume you are using the TEU ESC included in the box?

I remember I had a fully hopped up dua lbrushless emaxx, I EASILY had £3,500 in that truck lol!

  BMW M5 & E36
Nice motor/speedo, shame about the car its in though :rasp:

I'm racing in the Schumacher BTCC and BRCA Nationals this year, all over the UK. I'll post a few pics of my stuff up if anyones interested. Literally costs me thousands

lmao I said that to my dad!

I bet its faster than anyones car on here to 20 as well lol :)

not if we run over it ;)

LMAO!

I used to race in the BRCA, In stock, Used to race a TC3, Schumacher Mission (hated it!), HPI Pro 2 and Pro 3. Cost me loads with all my Matched 3000's (the best at the time) Pro Trak Charger, KO Propo Vantage radio, Nosram Dominator ESC, Comme Lathe etc etc! Good few thousand in that!

If I was going to get back into racing I'd get a Tamiya TRF 415 though :) For what I'vespent, I could have EASILY bought a pro tourer, But wheres the fun in that! I like to be the underdog!

I quit toureres to race electric monsters JUST when they started to come out, every blood ytruck was an Emaxx though lol. Thne I got a AE T4 and raced that, But didnt find that as fun as just bashing ona bmx track :)
