My New VXR8

Love these cars. The Australian V8 supercars series is fantastic if you can get it (motors TV) Bathurst in a few weeks:-) 1

OK, not on TV this weekend. I try not to look at any live info 'cos It'll give away the results!

He just bought it for his yearly Le Mans trip. He even left the leman pass in the centre console to complete the scam.

The scam lol,
No scam I went with him in my E92 M3 V8 and with another mate in his CL500, we didn't pass many fuel stations :)
I have to say it does have a sweet sound and Jonny O liked to rev it especially in the tunnels.

Crank pulley and aux belt have arrived!

Heroic purchase!!! Whats your real world MPG then? I was doing 19 in my 330i auto. But I did drive it like a pellet everywhere.

On my commute (which is 1 mile) I get 9mpg.

It took £70 to fill the tank and I've done 230 miles with 20 miles range. That's the first tank so has involved a fair bit of hooning about. On a run you can easily get mid 20s to low 30s but round town its dog s**t.

BEAST.
I've got an itch I need to scratch for a proper V8. Think I'm with you on the auto too, big cars are too clunky and laborious with manual - auto would be my choice.
Manual is for the light, nimble hot hatches

Looks superb with the PS drop above.

It's almost like you wouldn't have to hoon it around everywhere. No one would be daft enough to take it on. Just trundle on by to the backing vocals of the hooooooge force-fed V8.

So the 50k service is due on the vx. Monkfish quote £350 for this service but due to the distance they are from me I'd be looking at another £70-80 on fuel. The only other specialist is walkinshaw but as they're only down the road it's the same issue. My other alternative would be to take it to Vauxhall themselves but I'd rather shoot my self in the eye.

So, I've decided to do it myself! After looking it's basically a normal service with plug change!

I've ordered the parts, 10l oil, oil filter, air filter (gone for k and n panel), and spark plugs for £190.

All appears relatively straightforward.........he says!
