Well to start i am a 19 year old lad with a 1.5 DCi 65. I work, i get paid and i spend it on the car. Insurance is dear but lifes a b**ch.
This is where it starts, the day i bought her ONE year ago.
From that it kinda went bad with blue sidelights and 17" wulf race alloys.
4 days after getting the new look, i did the BoyRacer thing and bumped it... oooopss!
Fortunatly the insurance never found out so she was put back on the road with colour coding and a silver grille. (notes parts i bought where NON genuine)
Quite liked the look AT THE TIME, after seeing that the parts did not quite fit i went out and bought genuine parts and had them sprayed, whilst putting Silver Clio 197 stripes and logo on.
Silly i was, then i give my head a wobble and decided to change it. So i bought Clio 182 Cup wheels.
And that where the tables turned, off came the stripes and logo. I then saved up and along came window tints and i quite fancied the idea of white 182 wheels so i had them sprayed.
At this point i was really happy with how it was. Unfortunaltly the car was danced on while i was out for my birthday. Luckily i knew who the lad was and he admitted it was him and coffed up £1600 to have new roof skin and bonnet plus respray. Whilst it was in i came across a Clio Cup race car on Google Images and really took a liking to the design.
And here's my car after explaining and explaing to the body shop and getting funny looks.
And thats the product at the end really, need to change the colour of the grilles and i really want to lower it.
Under the bonnet i started by fitting a K&N induction kit (made it really loud) and then givving it to my mate Wayne at Chipwizards who made a custom file for it based on its performance on a rolling road and a tweak here and ther. That lifted the little tractor engine from 65bhp to 90.8bhp, after that i moved onto buying a DCi 80 intercooler off Ebay which still isnt fitted because its a pain in the bottom. I also bought a DCi100 turbo from ClioSpares and that is fitted, the plan is to take the litle tractor to 110bhp through having the intercooler, turbo and a full remapp again from Chipwizards. So its not finished but i am after a yellow 182 cup next soo see what happens.
Comments and opinions are welcome good or bad, people do have mixed opinions. I've heard them all but graet when you come back with £35 a year road tax and 50mpg With a heavy right foot! :rasp: All at the age of 19 and to be honest i love my tractor powered Clio. :approve:
