My rolling road experience

Today I visited powerstation with the RSmania owners club. Great bunch of guys with some very nice cars!!

The lil clio held it's own though! I managed to keep up with my brothers Escort Cosworth as shown in the links!

My car made 197bhp which I'm sure everyone shall say is over reading but an escort RS that made 220bhp on an engine dyno made 224bhp at the engine! So whilst taken with a pinch of salt I'm more than happy!!!

Dyno operator was impressed with the way my car was on the dyno. My mods are Ben R Inlets, Yozzasport exhaust with Decat, P Murray Remap and CAF removed.

The Escort Cosworth is my brothers and I had to back off when following him flat out! I have a very large smile on my face! :)

I'm there next Saturday for an RR day to see what difference the inlets have made over standard :)

Purposely not done any more mods until seeing the increase the inlets should give me.

Last time I was there they reckoned mine had 183bhp with just an SS exhaust :p

I'm very happy! As said, I'm not sure it's 100% accurate but it's not a million miles away! Soooooo.:D :D :D :D

On our day from looking at other standard cars we worked it out was about 7% out, on that day.

nice one.. good result there.
I am lovin the ford rs's aswell, i'm a bit of a fan :)

One of my best mates is a Ford RS kind of guy, he recently had a moonstone blue whale tail.. but sold it.. :-(
he's had a few sapphires & S1 & 2 escorts. not got as far as an escort cossie though.. shame as i wanna go in one :-(!

Well if it is 7% out its still nearley 185bhp which is good for the mods and money spent!

Oh yeah I'm not saying you figure is crap, I'd be chuffed to bits :)

The next mod for me will be a remap I think, maybe along with a decat.

The decat for me made the most difference!!!

The 3 dr cossie has been to 3 rolling roads and has posted within 3% figures for each run. As said in my first post I'm not saying mine is 100% accurate but I'm chuffed to bits!

Mine was definately the loudest car there!:)

LOL. I wasn't sure if you were trying to keep up or if you were drivin sensibley with the misses in the car!:D

The remap hasn't added that much to top end but it's got rid of the flatspot I had before 3000rpm. It feels smoother throught the whole rev range now!

Your clio, the escort cossie and the focus RS look very nice.

I love that pic of the escort badge, very professional looking.

The other cars look like a pile of w**k though IMO! I do like the sierra sapphire cosworths, but that brown colour is disgusting and what's with the big chavvy sticker?! Eurgh! ;)

that brown is burgundy and is called magenta

i had a play with my mates near standard escort cossie and was level pegging but according to everyone on here it wernt possible,you may of heard of my mate as your from the midlands sev his name is,that white escort turbo running cossie management?as it was churping

Exactly! I know it's not accurate, but I have a nice piece of paper with it to show the lads in the pub. Just reckon I need one of those ebay resistors now and it'll push it over 200!;)

I love it more than my Trophy now. I've spent £1200 on mods. Largest expense was de-cat and exhaust. But it has made the biggest difference IMO!

It managed to do 42mpg on the way back from Leeds at a steady 75/80mph!

It's got a really nice sound now. Still a bit too boomy on the motorway, but I'm hardly ever on them so who cares(Apart from my neighbours and girlfriend!)!

Haven't heard of Sev.

I wasn't expecting to keep with him really but was chuffed when I did!

Cossie is std. apart from filter and zaust.

I'd be up for another rolling road meet. I really enjoyed it there!

I used to drive a burgandy 1989 rover 213s. Got the piss taken because all my mates said it was brown. Now I wasn't taking the piss out of that car for being burgandy, but burgandy on a car certainly isn't far off brown.

and I dunno why they call it magenta, as magenta is a bright pink/purply colour!

why have i gotta keep telling myself for i dont own one,but my mate used to own a 400bhp+ one and it looked stunning when cleaned
