nice mate, you certainly look after them... my dad had a black escort rs turbo... and that was immaculate, not modded or uprated, it just had a full stainless steel exhaust system (he must have been the first to have one around us!!) but that was just because he was sick to death of getting replacement ones from ford and them lasting 6 months!!!!! lol. it was regularly entered in concours competitions at rs days and came away with position more or less everytime :D not bad for a day to day car eh?!

Cheers lads for the comments the first one was my pride and joy and was very sorry to see it go, but it was to make way for a cosworth but my insurance decided to take all cosworth's off their books so i have to wait until december before i can change company which was a blow as i had found the perfect sapphire 4x4 with proven 355bhp and mint leather interior and mint exterior on 17" super t's... oh well when the fiesta is built it will go straight for sale to make way for the cosworth, or series one, thats how i found the new fiesta i went to view a series one which turned out not for me as it was cat c in 1992 so i left it but the guy had the fiesta there which i couldn't resist as its only got 74k on the clock full service and every mot from new and because it was fitted with a 2.1 zetec on T35 escos turbo at 47k, this has now been removed and the original replaced hence the engine being mint.

Cheers

Chris.

Whats the bhp on the first one?

165bhp 197 Ib/ft at 8psi without the front mount and that added (guesstimate) 10bhp, it was a fast motor for an unchipped car, it had hybrid T3 conversion - big -31 alloy actuator, cosworth air filter, mongoose full system 2.5 " bore turbo - back, jamsport stage 5 head & matched - kent36 7.5k/ ahmed bayhoo cam kit and vernier - alloy rad - big pacet fan - pro alloy front mount cooler , AP clutch kit, plugs leads etc... oil changed every 1k.:D

Nice looking frst (not keen on the 3 door cossie alloys though) I do prefer them with the later mirrors (as per your 1st one) I still think they look mint lowered on a set of escort gti alloys

Very hard to find a mint/near mint one:( (how bad do they rust around that filler cap:eek: ) I tried about 4 years ago with a very good budget & couldn't get one:dapprove: (I spent about 4 months looking) I either wanted a frst or a mint 90 spec Erst - I wanted near to standard but it wasn't to be.
So I admited defeat & bought a mint valver instead.
I will still have one though (prob as a project car) ideally a white 90 spec escort on the 17" ford seven spokes :approve:

You are the only one thats doesn't like them, beleive me they are the best looking 15" for this car, escort gti tenna penny mate, i picked 500 rims as its nice to be different and there's only 3 fiesta's in the country at the moment that i know of and have seen on these wheels, but have to agree with you about finding a minter, they are hard to come by thats why the dorset rs owners club chairman travelled 350miles to collect this car, if they are mint they fetch good money the old one went for £3900, and the new one is for sale in 3-4 weeks for £3500 for a very mint example inside and out, the car has done 74k and the engine 47k as it was removed for a 2.1 zetec turbo then replaced with original so the engine is mint, and now on T3 hybrid and a few other goodies but not chipped and running a healthy 8psi.

I used to know this guy called Frank, forget his last name, he wasnt that good an aquantance. Used to have a red one, supposed 275bhp I think its 350bhp now, trouble is its running a 2.0 16v zetec turbo now so hardly a RS turbo, looks good though

Both look very clean indeed.......Iv always wanted one!!!

Used to have a 2.0 16v hybrid and was going to chop it in for one but was told not to by a fair few people, mainly the 5 turbo gang so might have been biased views going on there ;)

Sorry about that:eek: I don't even like them on the 3 doors either, but I feel that they really date the fez tbh. Each to their own though.:)

When I was looking, I travelled miles to look at so called 'minters' up for loads of money (even looked at a K reg moonstone silver one !) - all of them we're rubbish:mad: as I said i'd still have a nice project rst one day though.

I know exactly what you mean, i travelled hundreds of miles in search of a decent one, theirs two kinds of rs turbo very good and very s**t, but most are very s**t, it takes ages to find a good one, but they are out there and most are still runnning standard boost and engine these are the boys to buy when they are standard they hold the cash.

how much do decent frst's fetch?

Depend on what you've got:

e.g

55k,fsh,original panals,standard unchipped,full t&t £4000-5000

105k,17" alloys,200bhp,rust around filler cap and wear to drivers bolster, few marks short t&t £1500-2500

The car i'm working on will be for sale for £3400 and it won't go for a penny less than £3300 as its in extremely good condition

Small update: The engine is up and running and only needs the boost setting and a tune up,
The engine is so quiet but as you would expect for 47k and its the original one with no tapping, rattles etc. On this car i've fitted a scorpion 2.5" bore with 3" rolled out tail and it sounds like my old R5 GTT:approve: , the old car had a just under 3" bore and that rumbled the ground and deffened you but this is nice, the brakes are slightly scary so they need sorting i might keep my eye open for rear disc conversion as the brakes on my valver are awesome compared to these,
Now the engine is up and running i have started work on the interior getting all the dials wired in and general tidying of the loom as the cars had a few owners to prier me and now has a few unfunctional immobilisers knocking around so i'll remove them and tidy the wiring, when thats done hopefully by the end of next week it'll be booked in for its body refresh, MOT/Tax - then i'll have pictures of the finished item::D
