Just a small update before paint: still in two mind to sell it or not as it would take ages to find another in this condition

Tbh I say keep it as it looks spot on (I see it still needs the bonnet vents fitting) i'd just put the later mirrors on it (colour coded) and leave it at that:approve:

Well done with the all the good work your doing :) I love seeing this kind of thing, looks stunning :) The Fiesta RST was the 1st car I really went mental spending silly money on.. this thread brings back some real good and bad memories... and good luck to you with it! :D

Cheers for the comments guys, just getting it ready for the paint shop the week after new year hence the vents out, the guy that does the work is good at spraying etc but he's bloody awful at the strip down and rebuild so i do it my self as i have to do it after he's done it, will update after new year, its staying totally standard on the exterior its the only way these are worth good money, selling after the respray etc for around £3700 so if anyone is looki for class low mile example of a fiesta turbo then give us a shout

the fezzers are class!!

here was my old turbo project that i ended up stripping and selling as a standard car. i went to the extreme with this one, t28, big fmic, charge cooler, escort cossy fuel pump, skyline injectors, unichiped, blitz filter, greddy breather, boost controller, uprated fuel pressure reg, 2.5'' custom exhaust, 230bhp at 9psi and it had lots more that i cant thing of lol

dam i miss it, never know i may do something similar to the 172!

Well it's been ages since i've been on here.

I managed to complete the fiesta after a larger restoration than originally planned and have now bought another RS which is currently in storage.

I remember this thread mate.Love the fiesta but ive just spurted a bit over that mk1 RST

Simply stunning

like the fiesta more I think but both are absolutely stunning. Im biased though - used to have an XR2i and always wanted am RS - had so much trouble with the XR though that I decided an RS wouldnt be a good move - bought a R5 turbo instead which was great but probably even more expensive to maintain than an RS would have been

  Megane Trophy
series 1 RST mmm mmm

Diamond cut 17s and then it would be perfect! However understand as its mint and original!

Dont ever sell that RST, it will be worth a fortune in year to come!

Cheers for the comments

Unfortunatly the Escort will be going next year to make room for an RS500, the new owner of the fiesta has started the underside restoration all the parts have been blasted and powdercoated it's just waiting for the stonegaurd to be applied then paint.

That s1 rst is mint as:approve: have you won any concours trophies with it ??

Got it the day after national day and it's been in the garage since so i haven't had chance to show it yet, i want to show it at ford fair next year then sell it on, as for concours i can't be arsed with all the cleaning thats needed.

Its super clean anyway, but the concours boys are just beyond belief.

Im thinking you would have to spend 2 months more cleaning that up for that?

Since the pictures were taken i've been underneath and washed that it's the little bits that need doing like behind the back seats, under the back seat inside the dash air vents:S to much like hard work for me:D

OMG

The series 1 is one of my fave all time cars, the ex owned a few over the years but nothing in that kind of condition which is very hard to find.

I know what you mean about the concours level, trailering the car to the show, stickers still on the tyres, mirrors showing the underside of the car & all that etc etc.

I think all that is a bit on the anal side tbh. I'd just want to get out there & drive it :)

Agree, with the rs owners club their are certain rules in the concours class's - due to many standard parts being obsilite like the exhaust - tyres - and an array of other parts most people have to enter the modified concours or working class which means they can't be trailored to the shows.

I will just put it on my local group stand on show ramps at the rear and mirrors at the back.

I was going to say cat171 you must drive the car into the show.Im sure theres like a 5 mile exclusion zone where officials are at every junction of the road to make sure this happens and its fair for everyone

Most of the people i knew got there cars mint and put new wheels in the boot with stickers on the tyres and then swaped them when they got there.

Hell of a lot of work

Ahh cool. I've seen people (quite a while ago) roll their minters off of trailers onto stands etc for the concourse competitions.

That to me is just plain wrong.

Wow !!!

A dude near me has a mint escort rs1600i, it's sunburst red too. He's had it for about 15 years.

I love the Imperial Blue escort cossie on the standard looking (but 18" alloys) :approve:

The rs 200 - well that goed without saying, p**n !!!
