My RS turbo's old and new

  16v & FRST
Thats worth 10k not 16.

Cracking car though

£16k is a lot of money but if you want the best in the country you have to pay and i know the car, it get wheeled off the trailer onto the ramps and wins every time, if your mad about ford and concours it's not alot to pay comparing it to it's rivals:

Mk 1&2 escorts £20,000
RS1600I £15,000+
Sierra 3dr £25,000+
Sierra RS500 £35,000+
RS200 £70,000 - £100,000

So you see what i mean.

I would rather have this for the money with all the good tuned bits on

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/294314.htm

This is where the market for rs cars splits into two, those who like modding and those who like original and all i know is it's very hard to get proper show car money for a heavily modded classic.

Nice car Chris, not that im biased:cool:

Matt brother, how's it going lads;)

Now just to mention i have been offered a good price for the car so it may be going next weekend and a moonstone 3dr will be replacing it which i've alreay sourced:)

If i had the money for my million pound garage i would have a mint moonstone blue RS500.

There must still be some around, rare colour i know but do you know of any brammer???

Moonstone RS500's are the rarest now as their wasn't as many made, only 52 out of 500 with less than 25 left:(

CLICK HERE, BUT HOLD ON TO SOMETHING WHEN YOU DO

Some say this is over priced as advertised but it must be mainly to do with the plate as the car is roughly valued at £30.000

this is the one i'm interested in:

Jesus christ 45k.Thats a big chunk of cash with those miles. If it had 3 thousand on the the clock then yes

Ive got a lot of respect for people who spend every spare hour of there lives making a car concours but the problem is that most are actually minter than when they rolled off the production line, surely you lose points for that? I have always wanted a concours GT turbo but it would be a crime not to drive it and also a crime to drive it, I drive my cars hard the way they were meant to be used but it would make me feel sick to drive a car as mint as that series one hard and risk stone chipping the under side.

No offence, the wheels on the one above look guff. I'd change them straight away.

Lol @ the plate valuation on that 45k moonstone one, the plate was £8200 plus fees back in 1990 (so all in all 10k)

The car above comes with a set of standard wheels that would be going straight on it, i'm not really a mod king, i like thigs they way they are supposed to be.

Matt MK1RS2000 with a BDA in it:evil: - - - Very nice mate

rs250nut i know exactly were your coming from.

Thats the idea of concours isnt it,to make it cleaner than when it was built

Another small update - and another car

Due to a guy who seems to have fallen off the face of the earth the escort stays and some of the little jobs are currently being done.

The boot lock was sticking and missing a spring and washer so thats been removed stripped down and cleaned.
The rear bumper had a very small bend in the centre so thats been replaced with a new item currently in the bodyshop - that should be finished and back on the car in January.

A small mark on the dash has been sorted and the repair is absolutly brilliant

And now for the New project

G reg 90 spec
120k
3 owners
never had a panel (yet  )
early 90 spec
The engine is mint for the mileage, 8am and -1 degrees this morning fired up off the key with no rattles or smoke and idled correctly  brand new exhaust, cv boots, has had welding on the rear leg and MOT'd for 12 months.
Sadly it's got no service history with the car as it was a farmers but not overly bothered.
Here's a few pictures as it stands, but the plan is to keep it totally standard (first job is to remove all the green strips and stickers)

the plan is once it's at mine is to strip the engine bay right down as their is a hole next to the fuse box which is more then likely to uncover a bigger hole once i've had a poke around and the battery tray has surface rust on so that will come out to - i can get both items for just over £20 so they may as well be replaced so it's solid.

I want to get the engine bay painted and slam and front panal - the car has previously flipped a bonnet and lightly marked the scuttle so i'll have the panel beater sort that rather than replace the original item.

More body work - back arches - 90 spec front bumper - new black bumper insert - 90 spec rear decal - clean up standard rear lights and fit ambers front and side and maybe headlamp protectors.

Then in the bay:- all new

Header tank
Dizzy cap
Leads
Fuel filter
Silicon hoses (black)
Vin plate
Engine bay sticker set

Paint engine bay parts:-

Rocker cover - black
Inlet - silver
Charge carrier - silver
strut tops - silver
oil cap ~ header top ~ screen top - silver
throttle bracket - black
wiper motor cover - silver
repaint the turbo and manifold - heat paint black

Then i might change the wheels for a set of 17" rs softspokes and fit a front mount.

That should keep me busy up to summer time

  porsche 944 - 80's ftw!
Around 4 years ago i had a mint grey s2 escort on a D reg (D333 OKH if anyone knows it).

It had done around 40k and won best in its class at gaydon.

The only bad thing was i never really took it out as i was too worried about getting it damaged/dented by some muppet at carparks etc.

Id like a concours ford again like a xr2 but i feel that its too much hard work keeping it as it should be and too much worry if you ever take it out on the roads to enjoy them anymore.

  182/Bora V5/S1 RS Turbo
ive owned two series 1 escorts in the past 5 years. not the fastest cars standard but i just loved my sundays out driving to the coast with that turbo whistling away. i do miss them. my last one is for sale in essex as we speak at a car sales for 6k in autotrader.(reg starts c245) if anyone interested i did spend around 2k on it after buying it but its not mint mint as described but its very clean!

I remember going with a mate who had an RST up to castle performance in stoke. He got it to around 200 bhp and the drive home was brilliant, such a transformation

Excellent, you've done some great work there, they all look spanking:cool: Is the 3 door going to have a standard rebuild, or modded ?

  RenaultSport 172.
Very nice and they all look very clean...spesh the S1.

for some reason i dont like the front end of the FRST....think its becuase how high the front bumper sits off the floor...

It's not an RS500 (unless it's had front fogs fitted to it, as the 500's have a mesh there)
It also has no lower boot spoiler either.

The pin stripe down the side looks to say something like rs 500 though ?

  16v & FRST
Cheers for the comments, no it's not a 500 it just has the front splitter fitted as the standard rubber item is in my attick for safe keeping.

The car has been in the bodyshop for the last 2 weeks for as complete restoration of the exterior. It's due out tomorrow so i'll be down there first thing in the monring preparing for the polishing preocess ready for the Cumbria show on Sunday.

Looks very nice.

From the looks of the pre paint pictures I take it it wasn't a pretty sight with the plastic arches removed?

Looks a cracking job on the three door :approve: I can't wait too see some pics of it out of the garage when it's fully finished:cool:
