N/a driveshaft seal

  Inferno 182 & Saxo
Quick q about the gearbox driveshaft seal on the near side ( the one that bolts to the box with 3 bolts). The shaft passes through this and has a rubber/plastic doughnut, for want of a better word, on the end of it that fits into the smaller opening of the gaitor. The gaitor then has a clip on it's small end to hold it tight against the doughnut and thus no oil leaks out. So I'm right in thinking that the donut on the shaft should spin inside the small end of the gaitor, and the main gaitor itself should not rotate?

Can't see any other way that this works is all

So on this image the donut attached to the shaft can be seen along with the end of the gaitor and clip to secure it. This donut should rotate inside the gaitor yeah?

The whole thing does not rotate hence the 3 bolts.

The donut it the big rubber thing on the shaft to the left of the picture, thats for balancing.

Where the shaft passes through the small end of the gaitor the metal cap bit is actually a bearing.

Common for it to leak

Yeah I've had a look at one now mate so I've seen how it works as I didn't really get what was going on, I'd pm'd you for a bit of advice too. Are my only options to renew the boot as it seems re-clipping it is out of the question?
